Something else too is that if you look at the little glimpse that can be seen of Sidious' face under the hood, he doesn't look messed up or anything. I bet the deformation(is that a word) is due to his involvement with the dark side, and remember when Vaders helmet came off he didn't look so great either(burns and battle damage aside)
well, i would like GL to explain why we have a crackhead imposter yoda in ep1...that is NOT yoda.
point is, he explains what doesnt need to be explained, fixes what doesnt need to be fixed...and manages to screw up his main characters.
cant he just leave the issue of palps deformation alone? thats why i like the darkside cloak theory. it just explains why he's not a freak in eps 1&2, an thats it.
You're right about Lucas and his actions. Haven't you wondered how Palpatine got like that? Honestly, that's the kind of thing that should be dealt with, unless
the man was always a freak. If that's the case, he's wearing some kind of
rubber mask because using the Force around Jedi would give him away.....
agree with queeq and others above, when i saw him in ep I, i immediately assumed that the dark side would gradually eat away at him, until we see how messed up he is in rotj....the aging makeup in ep II seemed to confirm this, just a gradual degradation.....
but, and i keep having to go back to this sorry, the macallum quote says otherwise....macallum lies sometimes, sure, but lieing about this would serve no purpose, it would just get people's hopes up for something to happen, and then when it didn't they'd be dissapointed and confused....if it had any effect it would be to damage the way the film is percieved....
so being that it would be a stupid pointless thing to lie about, i have to believe that he's telling the truth....so it's either yoda, mace, reviving anakin or something that no one's thought of yet....if there was a second sentence to the quote, it was something like "fans will love it", but memories hazy....
