Torturing Han Solo

In EpV, does anyone know why they tortured Han Solo in Cloud City w/o asking him any questions? Were they just torturing him b/c they didnt like him or was it something else?

There is a specific EU explanation for it, I know that {though I'm afraid I don't know what it is}. As for a canon explanation? Perhaps it was just to punish Han Solo ...

I always took it to be due to the fact that it was to lure luke there, due to his freinds being in pain etc...
But I'm always open to new theories.

Yep Luke could sense their pain as did Obi Wan thats why he said ' Its you the emperor wants that is why your friends are made to suffer' or something like that.

I think you mean that OB1 says that if he goes now, he will undo what his friends have worked and suffered for 😖

Like you guys above sorta' said, the EU/Canon explanation could be:
Luke would sense his pain, and take off and fight Vader.
An even better EU explanation could be:
Vader was pissed Han left the Imperials, so he hurt the shit outta' him.

why on earth would that last one be a reason?
why didn't he torture Leia then for playing rebel while being a senator?
or for Chewie who stopped being a slave?

maybe it was to to torture him so luke would sense it and come, and at the same time, test blood pressure and all that junk to make sure he could be put into the juicer (carbonite)

Bah that EU explanation is no good, a better one would be that Vader tortured him because he was pissed off Han would dare drawn a gun and shoot at him. He made him regret what he did.

Though the reason, was most likely to draw out luke.

It was done to lure Luke and it worked.

He might have gone through some preparation to get into the carbonite. He would have died otherwise.

So the three work out toguether.

It lured luke.
Vader vent his feelings (the one I like the least)
It was necessary in order to get Han into the carbonite, though Boba was still worried he wouldn't make it.

Exactly! This isn't complicated. Watch the movie, its obvious.......
They torture Han. Luke sense it and leaves to save them, thus walking into Vader's trap. This is not a difficult thing to understand.......

Although, Vader torturing Han because he was pissed at him is kind of funny.

Cuz Han was a smart ass, and second, torturing a woman is kinda too dark and evil even for vader and lucan wouldnt sink that low. just think about it, what if he had. there would be no pint to freeze han, remeber that Boba fett was the one who wanted han, so it was a plus that vader got to torture him as well as lure luke at the same time.
