With some reluctance, Harry turned back to the game. His eyes were darting around, but his ears missed nothing. Colin was shouting again.
"And so it's Pansy Parkinson with the Quaffle, dodges a Bludger from Thomas, and passes up to Theodore Nott. Nott tries a dive, and ooh, gets nailed by another Bludger, this time from Seamus Finnigan. Good job, Seamus! Next time, aim for the - "
"CREEVEY..."
"Alright, sorry, Professor. Anyways, Nott drops the Quaffle, and Granger catches it five feet off the ground, great move to avoid Parkinson, and a great move to avoid a Bludger from Crabbe. Granger with the Quaffle, now going straight vertical up, she's got some nerve there!"
Harry spun around to look, despite himself.
Indeed, Hermione was going straight up. She straightened out perfectly some distance above the pitch, and hurled it stright downwards. Parvati caught it.
"A daring manuevere there!" Colin shouted. "And Patil has it now, arcing underneath Crabbe. And Goyle. And Parkinson flies right at her! Nearly knocked her off her broom! But Patil hangs on to both the Quaffle and her broom, regains herself, drops it off to Weasley. Weasley tries to go up....but gets hit by a Bludger. No wait, a Bludger's bat. Weasley drops the Quaffle..."
There was a huge chorus of boo's following Goyle's foul against Ginny, and Harry stopped to watch again.
Ginny was massaging her shoulder gingerly, and bravely chased after the Quaffle carrier again.
Harry now had a slight anxiety to catch the snitch and end the game now, before anyone else on his team got hurt.
"So it's Nott and Zabini with each other, heading towards the goal, Zabini with the Quaffle. Patil blocks Zabini, but he manages to pass it to Nott again. Oh no, Nott's in all alone on Ron..."
The entire crowd seemed to hold its breath.
"Of course, we all know Ron's talent from last year!" Colin said, but with a slight twinge of nervousness. "So...Nott dekes, and shoots.....WHAT A SAVE!"
Ron was grinning widely as he threw it back to Hermione. Hermione paused, and made two hand signals to Ginny and Parvati. The latter two nodded immediately and flew off in separate directions.
Hermione wiped her bloodstained nose, wincing, and started flying again.

"Luna Lovegood." she replied hesitantly.
"Ah, yes, a Lovegood!" Mrs. Weasley said. "Knew your parents, fine poeple of course, very respectable. And I'm sorry about your grandparents." she muttered in an undertone.
Luna nodded, suddenly miserable. Harry, Ginny, Hermione, and the twins had no idea what was going on, but Ron bit his lip, and Bill swallowed grimly. [/B]
I think the loovgoods live near them (4th book)
Greatr story. Oyu and spidergrl have inspired me to start my own HP fan Fic 🙂
i noticed that, and i was startin to write my own on word and saving it. i think I'll wait a while to post it or do it some ware else, plus i will take me a while to come up with something good for the next part. sorry to admit this but i haven't tried reading the new fanfics yet cause with the same characters in each one gets confusing to read them all. I'll wait a while to read the others. my brain gets confused with too many plot lines of the same people. lol
can't wait till you come up with something new dark!! 🙂
AUTHOR'S REPLY- Oh, crap...like, 5 posts in a row and I haven't put anything new yet. Here goes.
(I'm making this up as I go along, I'm still brainstorming future plot lines)
Ginny suddenly broke away from circling the west side of the pitch, and zoomed straight under Hermione, who dropped it into her hands.
Hermione waved at Harry, who waved back and smiled.
Hermione kept waving, however, and Harry stared back, confused.
She pointed at something above her.
A flash of gold.
Harry immediately understood, and went after the snitch. Malfoy was all the way at the other side of the pitch, near the ground.
By chance, the snitch just happened to float right in front of Harry's face, and he grabbed it lightning fast.
It took a whole thirty seconds to get Madam Hooch to realize that the game was over. Even Harry couldn't believe what an easy catch he had made.
"Madam Hooch! I've got it!" he yelled, and waved the snitch as wildly as he could.
"Wha - ?" She spun around on her broom. "Oh! Right!..."
She gave an earsplitting blast on her whistle, and shrieked that Harry had caught the Snitch, ending the game.
"AND HARRY POTTER CATCHES THE SNITCH!" Colin yelled. "Gosh, he made it look easy. Final score: GRYFFINDOR WIN, ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY TO ZERO!"
Ron was greatly amused as he and Harry glided earthwards.
"What?" Harry asked curiously.
"Look at Malfoy." Ron snickered.
Harry peered over at Malfoy, who was getting off his broom. He was wearing an expression so permeated with hatred, it looked as though Malfoy had eaten an extra-sour lemon, and his face had puckered up.
Harry cracked up, and so did Ron.
Fifteen minutes later, they were striding up to the common room together, having changed and towelled their hair off. Madam Pomfrey had come onto the field after they had landed, and with some quick words, had mended the Gryffindor team's injuries.
"Good catch." Hermione said. "Why'd you wave back at me?"
"Oh...because I thought you were trying to say hi."
"And do you really think I'd do that in a Quidditch game? More correctly, a game against Slytherin?"
Harry turned scarlet. "I guess not."
"That was over so fast, mate." Seamus beamed. "Too bad thought, me and Dean here was just starting to have fun. Those Crabbe and Goyle blokes, they look so thick I was suprised they could tell one end of the broom from another."
"Yeah, well." Ron said airily. "We've gotten used of their stupidity over the years. But it really is still funny sometimes."
"Remember when we had to become them?" Harry asked.
"Yeah." Ron smiled broadly. "I was so pudgy."
"You [/i]what[/i]?" Parvati, Dean, and Seamus said.
Hermione sighed exasperatedly and told them: "Polyjuice potion."
"Oh - "
Harry could see that the quartet wanted to ask more questions, but Hermione silenced them with a finger-across-the-throat gesture. This relieved Harry, because he very much preferred not to tell the others that they were trying to sneak down into the Slytherin common room in their second year.
