Astonishing X-Men

Thats true, but Emma compared to Xavier is on totally different levels. It's like comparing a house cat to a Tiger. Even if Emma tried to prevent Xavier from looking into her mind, it would be futile.

Thats a good point, i never thought of that. Oh and thank you, I have noticed that a lot of people underestimate Xavier on these forums...

Actually the I more I think about it, the more it seems that Emma being a villain again is just too damn obvious to be the real story. Imo it almost seems like she's going slightly insane. Seriously.

Anyone else a little disappointed by issue #12?

Nah. I personally think that Emma is playing both sides. I think she would stand too much to lose by betraying the X-Men, and especially Scott. I believe that she is pretending to be part of the Hell Fire Club to get information about future struggles the X-Men may encounter.

I'm thinking she could just be talking to herself... at one time she talks to people in the mansion... how did they get into the mansion unnoticed. Why are they on Genosha... All signs point to insanity. 😂

I think what will happen is that Emma was obviously plotted to infiltrate the X-Men, but along the way she actually developed real feelings for Cyclops. Then there will come a point where she has to confess her deception, Cyke dumps her, Hellfire dumps her too, then next thing you know Phoenix comes back from the dead....again(although, I'm not complaining if she does 😄). The problem is, that's probably not going to happen as it seems too predictable, but I'm still not quite clear on Emma's true allegiances. So who knows.............

I agree with your theory up to the scott dumps her part..........

I was thinking that too. Having Emma just go "oh, I'm a bad guy again" would be pretty boring lol

The rest of the issue didn't really thrill me though. don't get me wrong I still love the book but the whole fight thing didn't seem to be as climactic as I'd hoped. Even though I did get my "Xavier is a jerk" moment

Although i didnt read issue 12 i still dont know exactly what more they revealed i agree with xmarksthespot about the insanity thing.

we dont even no if emmas love for scott is true yet................

I love this series so far... Great stuff! Curious to know what's gonna happen.

I'd say they've gone through a lot to show us that she does - they're even married in HoM.

Ditto. Very curious to see what Emma will or won't do.

it has to be, remember the phoenix burned through lies? And she saw that Emma truly loved Scott.

So I'm thinking a hokey "the power of love" ending... where Emma originally planned to infiltrate the X-men, and ended up falling in love with Cyke, and then she is redeemed... by the power of love.

There are numerous instances where she shows genuine concern for Scott. I don't think they're just ****buddies. I don't doubt that she really loves him - but she is Emma Frost... it's not entirely unexpected that she has ulterior motives. No doubt she will be redeemed by "the power of love" though I hope they don't make it too cheesy.

😘 😘 I agree. But I think the seeds of distrust are already sewn into Scott. So I think he'll catch onto her before she does any real damage.

I still maintain that I think she's just lost her mind. 😂

Thats possible... but you know what he's like in battle... i think he takes her going awol very personally...
