Why must I go to school?

School seems very pointless to me...I learn nothing it in seems. On the other hand I taught myself how to build a computer/how to use a computer and numerous other things just by surfing about the internet. I am in a stupid Intro to Internet class where they teach us how to use GOOGLE...rediculous. School feels so obsolete after grade 9. I have learned all I need to know..I know my algebra and Geometry. When my teachers ask me why I dont pay attention in class I reply...becuase it sucks..try teaching something interesting instead of giving me a book and telling me to read about junk I learned 3 years ago.

Again.. I could teach myself and learn a lot more online then I ever could in school. I bought a paintball gun.. went on the internet and within 30 minute I was able to take it about oil it and put it back together in under a minute.. If they had a class like that in school they would spend the year going over the most pointless thing possible.

Thank you for your time,
Sir Nick

EDIT: I dont know how school is in other countries but I know here in New england (USA) the school system needs some tweaking.. hell the only thing that keeps me motivated to go is my friends and g/f

Go ahead and drop out, see how far you go without a High School deploma.

I would never drop out. I am just saying it really is tiring doing the same routine everyday

You go for the credentials, that's about it.

I dont know how someone can work a job that they hate for the rest of there lives..I am just glad i only have 2 years left of school.

Well, with a deploma it becomes easier to get a job you enjoy.

I plan on joining the Marines anyway..I get good grades and people tell me I should use that to go to college, but it isn't what I want to do.

here i had to learn a lot of stuff.
most of it i won't ever use, but anyway...
it was never like that that they were teaching me some basis stuff.
eg. in computer lessons we were doing webpages in html, and writing programs in ..don't remember it was pascal most probably..
andyway... i'm not planning on become a computer programmer, but those lessons were fun 🙂

I would say that your school is failing you if it cannot hold your attention and stretch you every day.

What I would call a "good" school is the type of school that stimulates its kids and makes them want to go there every day.

Maybe you are just too bright for that school or your parents need to have a talk with the PTA to see if any of the other kids feel like you do ?

I went to school in Scotland and I too was sick of it by the time I was in my third year of the upper-school.

I left early and went to an apprenticeship but if I had it to do again I would have tried to concentrate harder and tried to get a diploma and maybe later on a degree.

I know one thing....The US Army or The Marines is fine but after you have done your signup term you will need to eventually find a job in civvy-street. If you don't get a good civvy-type qualification in The Marines you are going to eventually come out with little to look forward to.

I work full time, and I take a couple of Junior college classes per semester (term).

Seriously...it feels like I'm on the 8 year program. I feel like I'm going to be 28 by the time I finally get my business degree.

I hate school with a passion...but you gotta go to school. Always have to better yourself....

I had the problem of all through high school classes being too easy...and I was in honors and Advanced Placement. Even so, I had one hard class in four years of high school. But still I stuck with it, did my work, got good grades, and graduated. I'm starting college in a week and a half. Why? Because without a high school diploma, you'll most likely end up being a burger flipper the rest of your life, and having a college degree increases your chances of getting a good job a lot. School might have bored the hell out of me, but I still loved to learn and took my education seriously.

Meh... School isn't all that bad... I have one or two hard classes... it's the homework I hate. 😬

I'd have rather had hard classes than easy ones, frankly...

That's what I'm saying 😉

well school basically is torture and to toture you more they assign something called homework

homework sux, school could be better. get over it

I feel sorry for anyone who feels that school is torture....though I'd have to agree with the homework. I once told my math teacher I didn't do my homework because it was busywork and I hate busywork 😂 (last year we were reviewing stuff for the ACT and one of the things we reviewed was factoring polynomials...which I learned to do in 6th grade...so I refused to waste my time doing the homework. My teacher had me solve random questions off the worksheet during class, and I did everyone perfectly correct off the top of my head 😄 he excused me from the homework for the rest of the week)

^ apparently someone doesn't have any friends....

Umm...who were you referring to, Link?

Why must I go to school?
so you learn how to not ask dumbass questions like this
