😱

Oopps...that was directed at Fire Starter....or should I say Sock Starter...Sorry SS

😂 no prob!

Why should you go to school (throw in afterschool jobs and extracurricular activities, too)?

To keep the amount of time everyone else has to put up with kids to the bare minimum.

You're going to school so you wouldnt have to clean after other people for the rest of your life in a greasy, cheap resturant.

Its a different thing all together, if you want to do that though.

I plan on joining the Marines anyway..I get good grades and people tell me I should use that to go to college, but it isn't what I want to do.

Well if you want to be an officer in the Marines you need a diploma and at least a high school diploma... otherwise your a grunt 😑 and only hope would be Master Sergent.

my sister wants to be a piolt ....mad person... tho she's in the aircadets and flown a few things already so theres no stopping her really

I try to explain this to my kids all the time

You go to school to learn how to learn. When your studying math, youre not just learning equations and formulas, youre training your brain to work out logical problems. In history (at least the way most teachers go about it) youre not so much learning about our past as your are working on your memorization skills. When you do a report it doesn't matter what the report is about, what matters is that you are able to organize your thoughts, put them together in a cohesive way, and get the material turned in on time.

Its all just to get those synapses firing, learn some social skills and prepare yourself for real-world problems. If you go out into the big wide world without a working brain you are in trouble.

wow....THAT's an answer. I gotta remember that one to teach my kids..

In response to Creechuur's post, that is a good one, however, it pertains a LOT more to college than High School. HS to College, that is about as big of a step in "growing up" as it is from College to the real world.

the real world i heard that lot yesterday....

I go to college and live in the real world. It's not a fun place...

nope 🙁
