Wonder why locke kept charlies stash though??? I think the ep was just a build up to locke taking power over everyone...
I think that Locke kept Charlie's stash as a form of blackmail. If Charlie ever gets in the good graces of Claire again...Locke "conveniently" slips one of the Mary's into Charlie's things and happens to have Claire stumble upon it. Thus she will hate him and he will become further alienated from the only two things on the island that he truly seems to care about.
Childish? Yes it is, but Locke really disappointed me in the last episode. He was being unfair. And on top of his unfairness and harsh judgement he HIT Charlie! Uncalled for! Yes, Charlie was acting a bit irrational...he could have just slipped into Claire's tent and talked sanely with her, but he did something drastic that he considered to be in the best interest of Aaron. He was wrong, but sometimes people make mistakes.
Locke once used to listen to Charlie. He used to listen to people period and help them...now he's on this weird power trip. Jack mentioned in the end of last season that there would be a seperation. That Kate had to choose a side...Jack or Locke. And that's how it's playing out. People don't yet see Locke's inability to govern them. Jack, although he has faltered a little at times, is a good leader...as good as he can be in that situation. There will be a war. Our survivors will build their army...and then Locke will break them apart. They will likely seperately face the Others and eventually destroy them. Then...they will war with each other. The winner will become the new Others.
This is how I see it anyways. I can even see who will take what side in this upcoming confrontation. It will cause some serious drama and we'll have another question to boggle our minds...Who's the bad guys? If we look at things from everyone's perspective...what side would we take?
Just my opinion. Something is wrong with Locke...that's all I know.
yep, if they actually follow thru with any of the little things they start up, all the hints and baby steps toward something big on the horizon, like Locke vs Jack war, it would be sweet...
but, as the show goes, they will probably get a few more eps into it all, really setting things in motion, then, just for kicks and shock value, Locke or Jack will die in an accident completely unrelated and disconnected to the rest of the building plot...
and they will end the season and start season 3 with all new questions and build-up to... Nothing...
This theory comes from "the lord of the flies" I think it could pan out... But it seems such a silly thing to do... Why don't the losties try to befriend the others??? Then they might be able to get off the island!
instead jack wants a war... One he will lose... the others have all the advantages, and even echo and the justice stick couldn't turn the tide of war....

I doubt the others want to be buddies with Jack and the survivors. Any attempt they make would probably get them killed or taken.
