😐 fruits basket is awesome w00t dont rag i t...😐

YAY! the first time the clock hits 0!!

I'm guessing it only resets to 94 or something though, giving the button-pushers 1/2 the time between alarms...

then 47
then 24
then 12
then 6
then 3
then 2
then 1

until finally there's not enough time to enter the numbers any more, and the thermal vents into the earth's core are allowed to erupt, explode and the island is destroyed....

they have many more chances to miss entering the numbers before that happens though, according to my genius theory...

my other question is this:

Locke says it's a leap of faith to keep entering the numbers, pressing the button, reseting the timer

but, if Locke does believe that the button must be pressed, then
wouldn't it be a leap of faith to NOT press the button instead???

I know, this makes Jack right and Locke wrong, so Locke cannot under any circumstances submit to such an insane thought, as Jack is NEVER allowed to just 'be right' but it's logical, right??

Thats a good point. But, in the trailer for next episode... The clock is different! Instead of 5 squares theres only 3!

I do have a screenshot somewhere

Thats the trailer. Study the clock closely

so, they find the One of Them in or around or near yet another hatch type place, and take him back there to do the torture? or he tells them he was at the other hatch doing his version of the button thing, so Jack Locke (and most probably, Kate, who usually tags along) goes to the new hatch, with the new timer ticking down, and decide to not press the One of Them's button, just for giggles, since they still have their own button back at their own hatch to keep the island happy...

that's just freaky enought to fit!!

But Sayide and Locke were fighting in the Hatch, werent they?

If there was another hatch, it wouldnt go straight into 0, they wouldve been stationed there aswell..

if there are 2 hatches, 2 timers, maybe they do decide to let one count down to 0 figuring there is still the fail-safe back-up other timer, or something..

if the Stranger, the One of Them dude was another button-pusher, from another hatch, he could lead Our Survivors back to his hatch, to the timer, and they could experiment, let the timer hit 0, etc etc...

maybe Jack insists that they allow 1 timer to drop to 0, to prove to Locke that maybe, just maybe, the 'leap of faith' works in reverse, that to allow the timer to reach 0 is the leap of faith, rather than pushing the button to save the world being the leap of faith...

we know there are at least 2 hatch-covered compounds, as the Tailies were holed-up at a second hatch when Ana and Eko first brought Jin, Sawyer and Michael back to Tailie camp...

also, wasn't the cave a hatch as well? remember, 2 skeletons were found there, 'our very own Adam and Eve' Locke called them; the surface entrance was the cave entrance, and remember the cave-in trapped Jack, then trapped Jack and Charlie, and Charlie followed the moth up the escape tunnel, out the 'hatch-exit' hole... maybe the cave was where 'the incident' occured, blew the hatches off, leaving the place looking much like a cave, killed Adam and Eve, then over time, the island reclaimed the compound, mucked and muddied it up, leaving it looking even more cave-like... they never really showed much detail of that cave, did they? just let a few survivors be happy there away from the beach, with the fresh water supply, until they found the new hatch, with the food, the beds, the guns, and the button...

so, that's 3 hatches.. and I guess the Others who took Walt must also be hiding out in a hatch, since Walt (or the Other pretending to be Walt) had access to a computer linked to the computer in the Swan compound...

so that's 4 hatches/compounds that we know of, right??

they are doing a sort of progression, from just surviving on the beach, to surviving in the first ruined cave/hatch compound, to the next level of comfort in the Swan compound and the Tailies first fort compound, which was also not fully explored, that we saw; the Tailies didn't stay long at their hatch compound, once Our Survivors moved in, so we don't know what's the deal with that compound.

and what's next? another 'new' hatch compound, maybe?

they have to get back to finding Walt eventually, before the kid really goes thru a growth spurt, goes thru puberty and MUST be recast.. they should have just allowed viewers to decide to suspend disbelief that much, brought Walt back already, grown and aged as the young actor has become, and gone on with it, rather than having lost Michael now too, for no good reason...

any way, enough of this babble

but, seeming as the first hatch was known about or 15 so episodes b4 opening, surely we wouldve known about this second hatch before?

I've already posted way back that there is already 3 hatches we know about for sure and I think theres 2-3 more... possibly a couple more then that...

theres 5/6 stations, as said in the orientation

I really don't think the Creators will go thru 15 eps of discovery for every new hatch

the Tailies were staying at a hatch-cave compound, with only 1 or 3 eps of exposure for that hatch, the Adam and Eve cave/hatch/compound was really only explored for 1 or 3 eps. The most explored/uncovered hatch was the Swan hatch, doesn't mean the remainder of them will need 10 or 15 eps of drawn-out exposure time, given that Our Survivors now know of the existence of at least 2, possibly 3 or 4 hatch-compounds...

then again, this is the same show that took 24 eps telling the tale of the First 48 Days of the fuselage survivors but then chose to cover the same span of the same 48 days for the Tailies, in A SINGLE EP!!!

so, meh, they MIGHT just draw out the rest of the discoveries of the rest of the hatches for the rest of 5 or 9 seasons, if not longer than that!

theres that... But that number on the tape could of ment there was other tapes for other sections... Such as a tape on how to look after yourself.. tape on when your replacements come... etc... I don't think that take proves it...

What proves it to me is that there was 5/6 areas of scientific study and only 1 shown in the 1 hatch... Yet we have also seen the study shark... I think there might even be a hatch underwater... As we did see a wire going of the island into the see...

of course, the underwater compound, if not a whole other island, with more hatches, compounds and mysteries of its own
