Yeah, maybe.
Maybe, I misheard, or the way he said it.
Or he could just on being crazy. But I dont believe that it was an flash flashforward because the guy introduced himself as the new dean of surgery, and its obvious his dad is dead because he was the dean of surgery and they're is nothing higher up than that.
Here's the second half of the episode : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSSFbThjlSk
watch the part after 2 min and 30 sec. Just to clarify what was said.

So can anyone explain the flashbacks and flashforths in the finale episode of Lost for me? What was after the island and what was before? I would almost think that all the flashbacks where Jack had beard was the future but he says that his father is still alive, indicating that it is in the past. So what is true? Is only the last scene in the future? Or did his father never die?
It was a Flashforward. His dad was really dead.

He said something more like "Why don't you go up and see my dad, if I am drunker then him, fire me". Which really doesn't sound like an ironic way to make a statement on how his father alcoholism was neglected.
He says " You get my father down here, get him down here right now. And if I'm drunker than he is, you can fire me." I wanted to clarify that because asking to get him to come down refers more to him being alive.
Although like some said I don't really think he's alive there. Because everything else in the FF points to it being a FF. It's like we're being screwed with, just from one line.

Jack said get his father down here...implying that he's up stairs somewhere. Where is heaven in myth? 😖hifty:

I don't think Jack thinks his father is in Heaven and I don't think it's Sawyer in the casket. Kate not going to Sawyer's funeral-not likely. Unless something bad happens in the future between them..on the island that is.

Oh, ouch; that might have hurt if it didn't come from someone who actually thought it was a serious comment.
Okay, again, because it wasn't very funny. Well, I mean, at least you're good at being sarcastic. If you really want to have your rebuttal about nothing much at all, be my guest. But this is the main LOST topic and I won't be correcting your next thought mistakes.
