If they all get back to the island and travel back in time all together maybe they could be back on the plane and have the crash never happen.
One thing I'm wondering is if everyone has to go back to the island does that include Sun's baby? Because if they don't include the baby in having to go back to the island, then Lost is stating that a fetus is not a human being.... something to think about?
P.S. / sidenote: Saw Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) in the Dead Like Me movie. If anyone is familiar with the show it was recently released as a movie. fyi.

That's what I'm thinking. And this time Desmond will get it right and punch the numbers on September 22nd, 2004.
Isn't the number one rule of time-travel (by LOST standards) that you CAN NOT change the past?
the only way they could stop the crash it's by punching in the numbers in time... but they are never there...
Faraday try to warn Charlotte not to go back to the island because she will die... she ends up dying anyways.....
... and it seems they don't get to choose what timeframe they travel too... Faraday will be in the Dharma Iniatiative
Spoiler:one way or another... and that's long before Desmond was in the island, and he's the only who can change the future... and even so, the future/present will happen anyways... just like Charlie....
and so will the other, Oceanic 6 included
that's something I want to see...
though it's not all that hard really... Hugo could be easily convinced, and they will get him out of jail with the help of Ben's lawyer... Sayid already worked for Ben, and Sun and Jack are already on board, as I imagine Desmond will be, so convincing them shouldn't be all that hard
Kate, on the other hand, she will be the most troublesome...
It should be explained in the next episode... 316

I wonder what made Kate, Sayid and Hugo change their minds. I was under the impression that they did not want to go back. Also, when Ben called Jack he seemed to be in an altercation with someone. Wonder what was that all about. More questions I guess.
I know.. Hopefully in a future episode they will explain why they really wanted to return and who the frack beat up Ben..
still a very good episode and next week's one looks like it's going to rock

We'll find out once they have their "centric episodes" later this season. Although Sayid didn't change his mind, he was being transported in cuffs.
The altercation was most likely with Desmond and Penny. Ben swore to kill Penny after Widmore's strike team executed Alex. Plus, Ben was near the docks when he called, and Penny and Desmond have been living on their boat.
Cracking episode. Frought with tension all the way.
I was on the edge of my seat all the way there.
Roll on "The life and death of Jeremy Bentham"..!!!
I reckon you're right about the Ben/Desmond/Penny thing.
If Ben mustive followed Desmond after he left "The Lamppost"...keeping a promise to his old friend Widmore.
Y'all reckon Kate saw it/even participated in it...?
Ben coulda used Aaron as an angle to blackmail her into doing it...
