Awesome. Now i have to wait longer.
I happened to stumble on to this, pretty interesting theories.

Pretty good premier, even if the underwater CGI was a bit cheap. I wonder why they decided to introduce all the new characters in the last season. Isnt the hippie white guy from the Beatles? lol. I like the flash-sideways and I wonder if it will somehow collide with the island reality. It was sad seeing Locke in that wheelchair again. There was a sadness to the character. Then seeing the character act all evil on the island was sweet. Excellent job by Terry Oquinn.

The premiere was ****ing great. Terrific acting, questions answered, a few major twists, just awesome.I agree, the CGI in the underwater sequence was shitty, but I can look past that. I mean, it's TV and not the movies where you have tons of cash for FX.
I didn't mind the CGI, it was phucking awesome to watch the island underwater
What I loved most about the episode was (besides Terry O'Quinn's acting, which was superb) when Esau/Smokey was like "Locke was irreversibly (or was it irrevocably?) broken," and then at the end in the flash-sideways, Jack says "Nothing's irreversible."
Great writing, and a clever twist of Smokey's words.
I think the L.A scenes are pretty much and alternate timeline created after Juliett set off the bomb. Probably just to show us what life for the passengers wouldve been had the plane not crashed. Maybe to tell us that the passengers wouldve been better off in the island.
Here's an interview with Terry O`Quinn:
