they're both dead really, as is clearly Sayid... just take a look at the latest Entertainment Weekly (the cast are the covers), they mention only 3 deaths, no mention of Lapidus

Lapidus has been a nobody character for a while. He had tons of potential, but he became the guy with the one-liners.

Nobody even cared for him once they got out of the sub. "Where's Sun and Jin?" Not even a "Did Frank make it out ok?"

Lapidus is alive.

I doubt it.

I'm gonna have to back peddle on this...

Someone pointed out to me that they DO NOT kill characters off screen, especially characters who have been on the show for 3 years.

He'll probably come to the rescue before all is said and done.

By that theory, so would Sayid.

Not exactly. Sayid was carrying a bomb that exploded. His is a special case.

After reading the EW article, I'm pretty confident Lapidus is alive. He became useless lately, he had so much potential as a character...then again Miles has become useless aswell and he still alive...

I'm sure he'll be back, wet but alive 😄

they have not killed any character off screen... he got knocked by the door, but he could have easily use that hole to escape

Sayid was blown to pieces, just as Artz and Ilana, no coming back from that. We don't neeed to see their pieces all over the place to know for sure they're dead. Jin and Sun are surely dead since we saw they drowned. Their hands let go off each other only when they were no longer breathing

As long as the plane is still in play, Lapidus will be alive.

DUDESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Anyone else really hate the direction this show is going in? I stopped watching around season 3 and then just a couple months ago decided to rewatch every episode from the beginning, including the new seasons. Season 4 is where everything started to fall apart for me as the show went from a drama to a sci fi, but even then I kept watching. Now it just seems like there's no real point to anything. The characters got off the island and then chose to come back... which pretty much eliminates any tension of them getting off again. And the writers seem to kill off pretty much every main character in the show. I mean, 3 characters in one episode... really? It got to the point where no one's death is even emotional for me anymore because at this point I'm expecting them to die. 99.9% sure that sawyers dead in the finale

The show has been sci-fi since the first episode, what the heck have you been watching?

Season 3 was where it went downhill, but it bounced right back.

From the lips of "Lapidus" himself!

Spoiler:
He says Frank is dead.

Possible spoilers, ye be warned.

well, that certainly burst a bubble... but still 😄

Holy monkey balls, that was an episode. Questions answered, but even more mystery!

I want to know how Egyptian mythos plays into all of this! There has been nothing about that!

I was asking the same question. If it came to be this way. Then where do the egyptians come in.

**** im more confused now than ever.

Spoiler:
A damn pot of gold at the end of the rainbow under a tunnel? whatever that is, was too weird.

Mib and his crazy fake mom were adam and eve. The hell? smoke moster popped out the pot o gold??

That glowing cave reminded me of Fraggle Rock.

----

Has anyone noticed that in the new Clash of the Titans, Hades can morph into a cloud of black smoke? Reminded me of Smokey.

About the Egyptian parallel; Anubis is the god of the underworld, so maybe that cave is a portal to it. In both Greek and Egyptian lore, a river leads to the underworld, and by sending his brother in the cave, Jacob released Satan/Hades/Anubis/The Devil.

I've only seen half the episode, cuz I'm moving to a new house...

anyways, I'm not going away for work after all, until further notice, so I might be home on Sunday 23th, problem is I just found out the finale will be broadcast here on Tuesday 25th... damn you AXN! (I don't live in the US, obviously 😬)

I'm pretty sure y'all know the finale will be 2 1/2 hours... did you know about the satellite?:

Star Wars Death Ray To Ruin Lost
Mild-mannered photo satellite goes rogue, threatens to ruin joy on May 23rd.

CNN is reporting that a freakin' rogue satellite, Galaxy 15, will be busting into another satellite's orbit soon. Why does that affect you? Because your cable TV might get interrupted!

Yes, cable TV programming in the United States is in danger of being seriously messed up on May 23rd. The day of the Lost finale! Apparently, the company that owns the satellite says they've known about the problem for more than a month and that the impact on cable will be "minimal."

"The reality is it's not quite as sexy as it sounds," said Dianne VanBeber, a spokeswoman for Luxembourg-based Intelsat. "If we did absolutely nothing, it would create confusion ... [but] we're working with the limited number of customers that are on that satellite and taking active steps to make sure any interference is limited or completely avoided."

Damn you, Galaxy 15!!! You better not start creating televisual chaos until May 24th!

"Satellites. How do they work?"

😆

Season two was the worst with the x epsiodes of tailies... I could have done without that. Season 3 wasn't uber-excellent but less boring than 2. And basically it's all been great ever since.

yeah it has been sci-fi but not nearly as absurd as it is now. In the first three seasons the most bizarre thing that happened was the reveal of the smoke monster. From seasons 4 -6, everything just became ridiculous. And "Across the Sea" was probably the worst episode EVER on Lost. All of the questions that everyone had were answered in the most simple way possible...

Why can't MIB hurt Jacob? Because their mother said so.

How did MIB become the black smoke? Because Jacob threw him into a cave with a bright light.

Why is Jacob protecting the island in the first place? Because his mother said so.

How will MIB get off the island? By sticking a wheel into a bright light and adding water and stuff.

Wow. So creative. 😐
