Did you know that Jake Gyllenhaal has history with Maroon 5?
Earlier today, I got the new issue of Teen People and found out that Jake Gyllenhaal knows the guys of Maroon 5! The magazine features a double issue with two covers, the reverse side with Destiny's Child on the front, features a section called "Artists of the Year". In there, there were five musical artists and a famous celeb who loved their music, commented on them. For example, Stevie Wonder > Destiny's Child, Usher > Ellen DeGeneres, etc. Anyways, the last page of it was about Jake commenting on Maroon 5.
I will not quote it, so you'll hear the jest of it. Jake says that he's known Adam Levine (the lead singer) since they were in diapers. They grew up together and he got to see the band evolve. When they were in high school, in their earlier performances, they used to wear suits with ties like the rock band The Hives does now. Their music sounded very different back then and Jake admires the way that their music has evolved. Another interesting fact was that when Jake was filming "Moonlight Mile", Adam dropped by the set to hang out and left an advanced copy of "She Will Be Loved" from their debut album, Songs About Jane. Jake said that was his favorite song from the album and was flattered that he got to hear the rough, early version of that single. He also mentions that Maroon 5 are very talented in their style of music right now and have songs that are worth listening to over and over again.
Because I can be easily amused at the small stuff, I totally tweaked out in cyked way. I was so surprised that Jake has history with these guys! That is so freakin' cool like you wouldn't believe! It was such an expected thing to learn today and in general and all...SWEET!
If you would like to see that article, check out the official teen people site or just simply go to any store where they sell magazines, including teen people. By the way, the cast of The OC is on the front cover and it's the Dec. 2004/Jan. 2005 Issue. Good hunting!
