People on this thread are just a little creepy...I'm a bit late for this thread, but seriously, people. Jake Gyllenhaal is very nice looking, but some of you are just...creep-tastic.....
Don't you think an actor would like to be appreciated for who he is, rather than a face? I know most of you find that he's a good actor, and I agree. He played a very convincing role in Donnie Darko (the only film I can recall seeing him in), but why do you think that? Some of you think he's a good actor simply because he's attractive.
I must say I have only just recently discovered Mr. Gyllenhaal. I didn't really think too much of him until I saw Donnie Darko the other day. It's a strange sort of film but I think I followed it pretty well. The film itself made sense to me but it's a very difficult concept to explain to others.
Anyway, I thought he was brilliant. Jake was totally believable and brought so much intensity to the character. Someone said earlier [sorry can't remember who] that they thought he would make a great Spiderman. I agree [though really, no one can beat Tobey there..] and I also think he could have, let me stress this, COULD have made a great Anakin Skywalker. I am very biased where that's concerned though...Hayden and all things considered. And also, he is, of course, very attractive but [in response to TheMightyX] that is not the sole reason for my liking him [as with Hayden Christensen]. Their being absolutely gorgeous just means we can drool over pictures of them while admiring their acting.
Sorry, I rambled a little there...
