Hmm, it's been a while since I read comics, but I don't recall Vertigo being behind-counter material...
Then again, Preacher was on-shelf at my local store. I don't believe they sold it to children, though. Thing is, those comics don't deal with charactors that are simultaneously marketed to the under-age.
So, Marvel Max does? How can it be in-continuity, then, without upsetting younger collectors who want to read everything on their favorites? Is it second-tier charactors only? In your opinion, is it reasonably un-restrained?
Maybe I can let those Brownies out, after all!

Scooper 'BIGGUN' tells us he received word from writer/director Mark Steven Johnson about the Ghost Rider movie adaptation starring Nicolas Cage:
MSJ revealed the look of Ghost Rider and its villains. He said on GR's appearance "Don't worry about the look of G.R. He's hard core classic, just like Tex drew him."
And for the villains "The only truth to any of these rumors is that you can expect Blackheart and Mephistopheles to appear."
Sounds great, stay tuned for more news on the film as it comes in
Punisher and Supreme Power are the only Max titles I can think of at the moment, along with the Doctor Spectrum mini. Alias, Cage and the Eternal were previously under the title, but have since ended. Most of them fit into the main Marvel Universe, but are characters that most kids don't really know, or don't clamor for. The main reason they're in the Marvel U is so they can draw upon the other characters for stories when need be.

GHOST RIDER
Actor and avowed comics geek Nicolas Cage talked to Empire magazine about taking on the leather and flames. "What I love about this idea for a comic book is that, if you think about it, it's really complex," Cage said. "Obviously the movie should be fun and it has to have humor but if you think about a superhero who's using the powers of hell for good ... I mean, that is a very profound, complicated concept for a superhero." He even takes a shot at Guillermo del Toro's newborn franchise. "Hellboy is a later character," he said. "Ghost Rider's been cursed by the devil but he's not going to let the devil win. He sold his soul out of love, he was trying to save his father's life, and then he got tricked by the trickster. But because he did it out of love the devil can't get him. He can outfox the devil and use his powers for love and good, which is interesting." No comment from Spawn just yet.
Meanwhile, Superhero Hype has a scooper's report from someone who talked to director Mark Steven Jackson. "MSJ revealed the look of Ghost Rider and its villains. He said on GR's appearance 'Don't worry about the look of G.R. He's hard core classic, just like Tex drew him.' And for the villains 'The only truth to any of these rumors is that you can expect Blackheart and Mephistopheles to appear.'"

Avi Arad himself is pushing for a Deadpool movie. Would be pretty nice if they do it right. I'm for some descrepancy, but don't mess up the Merc with a Mouth!
