No. He's doing 'Lovely Bones' next, trust me on this one.

He's doing Halo

Well this might bring back the LOTR forum..... If PJ could just get the rights we would be set. As for wether or not he is going to make it is up in the air according to this article. But if they settle the rights... who knows what could happen!ClickyClicky

PJ's gonna have his lil' one year hiatus. He deservves it. he's been working non-stop for the last 10 years. Now he make look quite a bit better he's now as thin as a rake, but i hate to think of the side affects of that stress were.

indeed. But after that, he NEEDS to make the hobbit! REALLY REALLY needs to!

Yeah he does and although I'm not gonna be one of the fans who pokes him with a stick until he tries, I feel it'd be incomplete to leave out the Hobbit.

The worrying thing is, if he doesnt make the film, someone else might, with a different company, and tear the hobbit to shreds.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Well after the success with the first three films I would hope that they wouldn't trust anyone else with making it. If it takes time, then we can wait. If PJ wants it then I think he should get it, after all he proved himself with the others. I guess we'll just have to wait and see......

So the thread doesnt become over clouded and die from too many conclusions lets talk about what we would like to see in the film!

Such as...

Possibly Legolas in Thranduils Kingdom (I imagine Banquet Table)

Any possibilites on casting for Bard, Throin and the Dwarves etc.

How could they make the Gollum scenes interesting bearing in mind the exposure he's had in the trilogy already.

I wouldn't be suprised if they change the movie to include more characters from LOTR. Expand on some roles and maybe even add some. PJ showed that he isn't afraid of changing things, so you never know what could happen.

As for casting I would have to sit and think about it. The races were so defined already that they will have to pay close attention to who they select.

Casting is defintedly a hard one. Considering how long we might have to wait, there could be a whole bunch of new actors on the block, excuse the cliché.

And for Bilbo, I can't see Ian Holme taking it up again unless CGI is so advanced they can use him as an actor and make his face look young again, hwoever I doubt that'll happen.

I'd be interested into how they make the Esgaroth Lake men and the Men of Dale look though, with the architecture and such. Strictly speaking it should look very similar to Rohan's but I doubt PJ and his development team will regard that limitation.

i dont really care about the Hobbit.. the only movie i wanna see is the Silmarillion! i dont know if they will be filming it but the book was perfect🙂 PJ did an alright job with the LOTR trilogy .. hope he does the same for the others.

Im registered to another forum, similar to this one, and they all agree that Ian is too old to play Bilbo as he has to climb trees, float on barrels and fight several spiders! Hes coming up to like 70 i think but i still think he is still very healthy for his age and give it a shot. They could make him younger with like prosthetics and stuff, but, on the whole, he really wouldnt be too godd and it would be a godd choice to change the actor, but try and keep the looks of Bilbo from Ian, if that makes sense?

On another forum, which im not registered to, they think that they should only have 5 dwarves as 13 is far too many! Or have 13, but only have 5 talk! I strogly disagree with is! They couldnt only have 5 dwarves beacuse of this pic:http://arwen-undomiel.com/sc/fotr/MM/Mm039.jpg visit the site (look at the naems on the left hand side)

Regarding Lake Esgaroth and the Lake Men, i cant wait too see them! lol! and Smaug! I hope they dont miss out his belly bit with the diamonds and other jewels stuck on! haha

5 Dwarves instead of 13?

Weird.

They obviously wouldn't need to develop every character, as in earnest there all pretty similar. Maybe in a script only 5 would end up talking, but they shouldn't confine themselves to any limits like that.

so they're suggesting to change the book (again) ? i disagree with it too! putting 5dwarves in only would destroy the fun of it!🙂

oh btw! Ian could play Bilbo. they could get stunt men doing all the things and make him younger with the prosthetics as u said.. its better if they use the same guy for Bilbo as in lotr

Yeah thats true, and in the beginning of the fellowship they did have Ian finding the ring...

And I think there were gonna put all 13 dwarves in, but only have 5 speak. Why would you suggest that lol?

No idea....becuase there stupid and dont come here where we are clever! lol

Deffiantly all Dwarves!
Possibly Ian playing Bilbo...i dont mind!
Have atleast all Dwarves say something!

Thats my opinion!

And its a good opinion!

You think it'd be possible to fit the whole book into a movie though and not have to drastically cut content?

Yeah, unlike LOTR The Hobbit is failry compact and wouldnt need much alteration. The only bits that would need changing would be some bits that wouldnt flow with the story or just dont need to be put in-like the Elves and their lights in Mirkwood, PJ will probably scrap that. But i hope they put the bit with the river in when Bilbo sees the boat and Bombur (i think) falls in?!
