1. homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.2. heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.
3. obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
4. straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed, since britney spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.
5. heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.
6. gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.
7. gay marriage is not supported by religion. in a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. that's why we have only one religion in america.
8. gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
9. legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. people may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
10. children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. that's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
11. gay marriage will change the foundation of society. heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer lifespans.
12. civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name, are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. separate schools for african-americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

Gay marriage is kinda wierd... Just imagine the priest:
'do you barry, take this man, to be your lawfull wedded husband, to love and to hold, until death do you part'.Marriage is simple: one man, one woman. I got nothing against gays, but they shouldnt be able to marry.
Why not?

Ah, it seems so simple, to deny such a large group the right to marry because it would sound weird when the priest is performing the ceremony. Actually it seems a bit silly really. Who cares what it sounds like. Gee, some of the personalised marriage vows I have heard have been terrible, and even weird, but I'm not for stopping them getting married because they have the writing skills of an illiterate hamster.
And marriage is rarely that simple, except in words.

I don't care if homos get married or not, as long as they can't sue some churches for refusing to marry them.If a church doesn't agree, then they shouldn't have to, but under equal rights, they'd have to marry the homos or they could be sued.
While marriage has a significant religious meaning for many people, it is primarily a legal contract between two people and the government.
Consider, for example, the difference in how the Catholic Church and the U.S. government view couples who have divorced and remarried:
Because church tenets do not sanction divorce, the second marriage is not valid in the view of the church.
The government, however, recognizes this marriage and extends to the remarried couple the same rights and protections of marriage granted to every other married couple in America.
Granting marriage rights to same-sex couples would not require religious groups to perform these marriages, it would not require religious institutions to permit these ceremonies to be held on their grounds, nor would it require that religious communities even discuss the issue.
People of faith would remain free to establish their own teachings about what makes a marriage in the eyes of God, just as they are today.
And the government, as the sole officiator of marriage, would be free to provide gay couples the same benefits and protections of marriage it does for straight couples.
No, more likely under the equal protection act, churches would be forced to accept homos into their Est., if they didn't they could be sued.
Like how you couldn't ban me from your store because of the color of my skin, it's discrimination.
A homo could use the same discrimination charge, and it would be valid.

I am not familiar with the laws of other countries, but in the United States, private orginizations such as churches are exempt from this.

That's a pretty stupid law, small business' and such are privatley owned, and they have to abide by all laws in america (I think) why not churches?
There´s a simple reason why it should be illegal.
GOD (the chap who created everything) cleary is against it, whether you
are a JEW, Muslim or Christian. Each of these religions holy books have numerous verses condemning "the discusting thing".
And seeing all our laws are based on these religious teachings.. obvious really.
You could have the liberal approach "it´s not thier fault, they were born that way" so were mass murderers, child molesters etc.. should we tolerate them as well?
I recon Gay people should do thier own thing in private and not be allowed to have children, influence other people or get married.
Marriage itself is also a gift from God, how can people recieve this gift if they go against Gods rules.

You're an offensive person. I'm hoping that was sarcasm.
