What happened to the rumor that they were looking for a "Blonde, buxom girl" as a villain? I mean, I know Gwen's in the movie, but do we really want to count out Black Cat yet?

No, originally they were going to have Black Cat as the new love interest for 'evil' Peter.

But they decided to go with Gwen instead. She's easier to do than Black Cat.

Yeah but do you honestly think that this version of Gwen is going to be that great anyway? We're getting a less attractive (in both face and physique) toned down "I only love her cause I'm evil, which makes no sense" version of Gwen. They shouldn't have bothered to throw Gwen in the series at all, but if they wanted to, she should've been in the first one.
