You know, I wasn't going to vote this year but...

...I have never voted in my life, and I'm 28. I've really had no interest in it, so I've never participated. But this year something has come up that actually affects me, and here it is:

I am so sick and tired of mine and other people's days being ruined by people whining, complaining, and crying over this political election. F***ing babies, for God's sake. People are b*tching and moaning, threatening to leave the US if a certain candidate wins, and the like.
I hope they do leave; I'll be the first to escort their ass out.

But what really gets me are the celebrities. Okay, if you are actually influenced by an individual with ZERO political experience then you don't need to be voting anyway. And they are the biggest whiners of them all. Start with the Susan Sarandon/Tim Robbins clan, and you could probably work backwards from there.

So all the idiots who thought by throwing a temper tantrum ("if they don't win I'll leave the country" is equivalent to "I'm telling my mommy"-type talk) is going to get my vote....well my normal non-vote has now turned in the other direction for the SOLE purpose of what I just explained.

And yes, I'm complaining about complaining, but I've never done it before and don't dedicate part of my life to doing it, unlike some others. Just thought I'd get that off my chest.

so you are going to vote this year? 🤨

Yep!!

it's ok, you're from North Carolina....that only counts as like....1/2 a vote anyways...

You know voting is only punching a few holes in a ballot. So why make sucha a big deal out of it?

You're a voting virgin 😄 teehee

No seriously, thats cool you're deciding to vote 👆 And about celebrities, i guess you're right, but then again look at Arni, hes a celebrity AND a politician..hes not good at either, but thats hardly is the point 😛

I just don't like when you pay good money to go to a concert to hear one of your favorite bands play...and you end up hearing all about their political views.

like most celebrities even know what the hell they are talking about...

Thats cos they're trying to be cool.

My favourite bands (some) are already political in their songs and their message, thereore i know exactly what what to expect.

Eg. System Of a Down, Boy Sets Fire...etc.

yah, i've noticed a big trend towards musicans writing their political views into their music. I dont' have any problem with that what so ever. Actually I enjoy hearing music that rips apart politics...

I just don't want to hear their little 5 minute shpeel about why people should vote one way or another.

There's enough of that on regular television to choke Rosie O'Donnell....and choking her is quite a feat.

Ugh, she annoys the hell out of me. *shudder*

BSF and System have been arround for a while (begining of 90s), and before them there were Refused and Dead Kennedys, Clash etc.....👆

If i am thinking about the same person Rosie O'Donnald...I'll go google her, but i tink im thinking about right person.

Shes a freak! 😠

She gave away the ending of Fight Club on national television! Idiot!

😆

THAT is one way to piss off a Lil. Ruin a Pitt movie...

😂

😮 shut up.

If i am thinking about the same person Rosie O'Donnald [/B]

Yep, you are thinking about the same person!

I think you misunderstand what people are trying to accomplish by saying things like "i may leave the country if Bush is elected." There are many people who feel that the Republican party does not treat everyone fairly and does not adequately address issues concerning different groups. When there is a group of people who feel their politcial views are given no concideration they have very limited options....so many times people choose to vote with their feet. If the country does elect a stupid, racist, war pig for president we have another choice. Do we stay here and watch things like education and civil liberties and social services evaporate and support the American War machine with our tax dollars or do we instead decide that we rather leave and go somewhere where personally we don't feel quite as responsible for things like starting wars off of faulty/fake intelligence. There will most likely be a post election draft is Bush becomes president again and I for one don't support what the US is doing overseas and being of draft age I am looking into getting a foreign visa so I dont have to kill poor people for oil. When your politcal power has been taken from you (like in the florida elections in 2000 where hundreds of Black votes were not counted) you have no real option but to leave if you truely have a problem with whats going on. So instead of being like "dont be such a whiny little baby about it" maybe you should show some respect for people who have beliefs strong enough that they would rather leave everything they know here than to take part in something which is against thier conscience. Republicans have consciences right?

where do people come up with this draft bullsh!t from?

We've lost 1000 damn troops...not 100,000. We have 3x as many reserves in the US right now than we even have out across the globe. And yet Democrats use this absolutely bullsh!t scare tactic in order to get people on their side.

It's not solely left up to Bush to decide whether or not we enstate a draft...and the Draft Proposal has recieve almost zero support in Congress.

If all that's true, then great.

That's not my point. I am not very political and indifferent for the most part. My point is I'm prepared to vote because I'm tired of hearing all the pathetic slandering and whining. The Republicans will get my vote because they are considerably less annoying every time I turn on my television or radio to hear everything BUT something like that.

yes, the GOP NEVER uses bullsh t tactics to get people on their side; I do not think that I have seen a GOP ad on TV that isn't an attack of Kerry.

There is already a draft going on. Its called the National Guard. There arent enough active duty troops to fight the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq AND whatever other wars Dubya has planned for the next 4 yrs. They have been using tons of reserve and guard units despite the fact that active duty troops arent critically short of man power. People (wisely) have been deciding not to sign up or re-enlist and its a matter of time before there is a critical shortage of man power and it would be neccessary to instate some kind of draft messure if we stay the present course.

And congress is a bunch of spine less bitches. You supposedly need congress to vote on a declaration of war too, but that never happens so go figure....

As far a democrats being accused of using scare tactics, do i need to remind you why we are fighting a war in the first place? George Bush lied to us and told us there were definately WMDs there and we had to stop Saddam... bs, but America was scared and believed it.... so dont throw stones in glass houses.

Maybe instead of deciding who to vote for based on how annoying ones supporters are you should maybe get better ploitcally informed, because there are important issues that we are facing this election year that you should be better informed of. And its not a cry baby, whinning threatening to quit type thing like you said earlier...leaving your country because of your political beliefs is not a light matter
