Hey kids, TH here. As a self absorbed ego-maniacal forum member, I am attempting a whole new level of douche baggery. I have decided to create a thread where each day, if you are to be so blessed with my presence, I will complain about something, whine about a situation, or just make a comment on some sort of thing. Then, you folks can comment on it. Here is my first one:

Today's Rant: What's with all these variant covers of the same comic book?? Seriously. When Amazing Spider-Man 590 came out, they made two covers, one a Wolverine appreciation cover obviously to bank off of the movie that came out around that time. Can't Marvel just make one cover, then leave it alone? Sometimes they make up to FIVE covers for the same book, then serious collectors have to buy all of them, and that costs way more money than is appropriate during these tough economic times. 😠

The covers are teasers. If a character you like is on the cover, it's a higher chance you will buy it.

Yes, also they only make a limited number of the variant covers, for instance; for every fifty of the normal cover they will make one variant cover, which means that the variant cover is already worth about twenty to fifty dollars more before it even hits the shelves. Therefore you need to be rich to buy these damn things.

It's the American way, I guess. Or the worldwide way for that matter, except for small tribes in South America and such places where they have no concept of money.

I know, but I like something that will appreciate in value over time, then I can sell it on ebay five years from now and make some bank. 😉

I got the gold cover of venom lethal weapon for a really low price, others are like....£23 or $46 there

Nice, I recently had a ton of variants for Amazing Spider-Man, but I sold them on ebay and made tons of cash.

I bought issue 300 of amazing spiderman (first fight with venom) on ebay for a little over £20 as well, and thats a good price i thought since they go for quite alot more

I happened to have just sold that issue along with issues 298 - 327, the Todd McFarlane run. I got 200 bucks for them all, most of them were in Very Fine to Near Mint condition.

But, I did put the money into the stock market! 🙂

However, the stock market is really bad right now. 🙁

But, at least I have a job! 🙂
