Well I don't think you are born gay.
So with an element of both influence and choice, it comes down to deciding to be gay or lesbian I think. So....it's pretty obvious that any gay or lesbian person is in that position because they didn't wanna be straight. So why would they choose to be straight if they could? Obviously found their preference.

On a slightly different yet still related note, do you think bisexuals are simply indecisive? I'd like a few more opinions regarding this, being bisexual myself, I don't particularly feel I should have to choose one way or the other. I'm perfectly happy finding both sexes attractive and being reciprocated thus.

I don't think bisexuals are indecisive at all. It's a happy medium for some, easy way out for others. All depends on the person.
It's not uncommon for females to indulge in threesomes (2 women) and interact with a woman without ever being bisexual.
Someone once said that bisexual should be default. Then you can choose girls or boys as opposed to having a set society based preference. If it is by default, up in the air, you can say "Staying how I am. Bisexual." At least then you can CHOOSE boys or girls rather than having the added pressure, should you do decided to be bi or gay/lesbian, of tearing away from an already set sexual precedent.
Bisexual females rule.
Though, I prefer it when two straight females kiss, won't go into depth unless asked why. Complicated.

Infact, most girls I know or have observed talking about it have stated that they find it sexier when two women kiss, as opposed to man/man, or man/woman.
