I wasn't actually a Green Day fan untill I heard this album, In fact before this album I used to despise them. But this album is great.
Any Green Day fans that havn't heard this new cd, the definately need to pick it up, it's pretty awesome.
Blaaaach! They were actually respectable in the old days, now I cannot stand them. I categorise them as another shitty pop band trying to sell itself off as punk.

Actually, Green Day has always been pretty much the same. The only difference with this new album is how it all connects and that it is more political but they have always been political anyway. Sounds similar to what Afro Cheese was saying in the other thread where you don't like them simply because they are popular right now. Now, I also checked something out about yourself to come to another theory (granted, this is just a theory, not claiming it to be fact). You were born in 1989, making you 16 (not claiming anything wrong with that). The point with your age is that this is the first time GD has released an album since you were about 11. Now, 11 is an age where I don't trust people's judgements at all. So in other words, this is the first time you have witnessed at an age with respectable views a GD release, so this is the first 'real' time that you saw all the popularity come with it. With that, you got annoyed and now you are holding it against Green Day.

Let me get this straight, are you suggesting that I could only listen to the album when it first came out? Bullshit. I happen to own the old GD Cd's so are you saying that my judgement as a sixteen year old is not trustworthy? If you are, you must truly be retarded.

🙄
I can vouch for the fact that Barbarossa listened to Green Day before American Idiot came out, as he's my brother and we've both listened to GD for YEARS. I remember listening to Dookie when I was in 2nd grade.
Age shouldn't be taken into account of someone's judgment when they clearly know what they're talking about, and while yes, GD has been popular for quite some time, they were NEVER as popular before as they are now after American Idiot came out.

Youmisread what I said. I said, this was the first time you experienced a Green Day release in an age where you really take notice to others feelings on the album. You have heard the other CDs, but you didn't truly get to experience what it was like when they were actually released.
