Your right, it is probably when they reach puberty so in otherwords, its a disorder that you develop...it has nothing to do with choice...thanks for proving that point...
Haven't you ever heard of recessive traits. People sometimes develop them later. Example I had straight hair growing up. Baam! I hit puberty and almost over night I had naturally curly hair. Is this a disorder? No. Nor is being gay. You might consider it to be bad because your not gay but some people don't consider it to be a bad thing. I love how you seem to think something I say proves your point. If that is the case then you are not fully reading my entire post.
When people go threw puberty different hormones are activated. They start and finish a process allowing your body to be sexually active. Note: I said sexually active not attracted to the opposite sex. Just a difference. Like skin color, hair color, body shape, etc.
I guess you could say that left handed people have a disorder. After all most people are right handed so they must be wrong. Right?
Now on to the bible. My wife was a religion minor in college so we have had much time talking about the bible. She is religious but I am not. Still we have common ground when discussing the bible. You can find just about anything in the bible and depending on how you take it can be made to mean anything.
Especially when comparing the old and new testament. God was nasty in the old testament. You looked up the wrong way and he would smite you. Slavery was ok according to the bible. A large collection of stories that more often then not contradict themselves. Why does the bible have 2 Genesis stories? Check them out they are not the same. So please don't use a bible as a source to prove what God wants. How many version of the bible are there? I found 50 in English alone, 50! How many times has it been translated and re-translated?
Did you know at one time there were many more books that were considered part of the bible but there were blatant contradictions so they cut some out.
Sorry to digress but my point is please stop using the bible as your sole defense against the 'wrongness' of Gay people. Not everyone believes.
first ammendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
shall i repeat again?
the constitution is a set of laws which govern the government. it has NOTHING to do with the bible. hunchy you need to READ the constitution before you declare what it is based on.

Well, guess what? The CONSTITUTION WAS BASED OFF THE BIBLE...so in other words, they go along and have the same morals...and the founding father's were not racist. And PVS, try to tell me that the founding father's did not base their morals on the bible...No, I am not the one spewing misinformation.
It was? Really? Why did people leave England/Europe to come to this country? Was it to get away from others pushing their religious beliefs on them? Sure was. That is why we have separation of church and state. If the founding fathers believe so completely in the bible then why did they separate them? Should they have kept them together?
Yes, I am sure some, maybe most of the founding father based their morals on the teachings of the bible. It is a very long stretch to say the constitution was based off the bible. You say that they had morals and they weren't racist? Of cource they were racist.
Racist: a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others.
They had people that were property. They bought and sold people. Morals?? Yes based on what they believed was right. Now that is wrong. Society changed and it was good. Just like society will one day accept gays as a normal thing.
In the bible marriage wasn't just between a man and a woman was it? It was between a man and his WOMEN. Assuming he could afford it. Between and man his wife and some mistress on the side. Given time I could probably prove that the bible said computers are evil and are the devil's work. Shame on us all!
correct, many authors of the original ammendmants were racist, sexist, religiosly blinded...but they shared another quality:
a lack of trust for those in power.
thats why it was written, to keep the government in check.
they didnt trust power, not future power and not even themselves.
thats what makes it beautiful, its not a list of rules to control the people,
but to control those in power. to ammend the constitution based on
what is written in the bible would be a mockery of the very first ammendment.
11. Thou shall not takest thy brothers arms, least he shall not be able to defendist himself.
12. God shall smite thee if thou takest the right of free Speech from my brethren. He shall smite thee!
I see it all so clearly now! 😖hifty:
Must have been the 12 commandments. Am I missing any?
I must have missed the part of the bible when they were talking about God forming the 3 sections of government. Executive, Judicial, and Legislative. What bible verse was that anyway???

This country was founded on the bible...think the ten commandments...It doesn't matter if you believe it or not...that's what it was founded on...and Bush will not be kicked out of the white house...He's staying in it 4 MORE YEARS!
the ten commandments are a message of morality (minus the first) which make sense. MOST religions have a basic set of rules very similar. dont kill, dont screw around on your spouse, dont steal, common sense morality issues such as this. no where in the ten
commandments does it say "thou shall not be gay"
you are jumping from issue to issue in a sad attempt to avoid being proven totally wrong.
and to answer your last blanket statement, america was partly colonised by those who sought to escape religious persecution. some of those (puritans) became hypocritical and persecuted far more viciously then the country they left. (salem witch trials ring a bell?) thats why that part of the first ammendment was written, to insure that this religious based persecution and twisting of law would never happen again.
thats part of what it means to live in a free country.
Your missing my point. But either way, there's no swaying you in what I think. The point is that the country was founded on a lot of things from the Bible...using the Ten Commandments...I didn't say it had ANYTHING to do with gay marriage, or marriage in general...it was the point that it came from the Bible and we use those morals...and the morals in the bible ALSO talk about the fact that being gay is just wrong...it's a connection....and your missing what I'm saying.
