Are the rumors true....about a new tool cd

Why do I get the feeling that everyone on KMC has spent the weekend binging on literal pills?

Maybe I need more time to let it grow on me

No! It's been out for over a week! Of course it doesn't need more time. Its been ages!

Sarcasm aside, if you want instant go and do what you said. Listen to some RHCP. Tool are not instant. If you expect it to happen overnight you've got the wrong band.

hey bardock42!!

I thought Mr. Keenan's vocals were great, didn't feel all that restrained to me, aw well, we're all alowed to have opinions.

Anyway, I have a question. In songs such as Right in Two and others, on the album 10,000 Days there is an instrument that I am rather fond of. I think I know what they're called but I'm not positive, they sound like hollow sticks. I was wondering if someone could tell me the name

Find a pic, there are many you could be referring to.

Claves?

saw Tool live last night.

amazing.

The only "solid" reference I could give you is in the song Right in Two the insturments pick up quite a bit after: "Fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky Fight over your lie, over blood, over anything Fight over love, over sun, over nothing Fight till they die, over what? for their ending." It's still really vauge, I was just wondering, maybe they're Claves, I'll do some looking around. Thanks anyway everyone

It's probably some kind of wood block or claves. You never know, could be something that isn't even an instrument.

I suppose, just curious, thanks a lot.

I think it's this revolutionary new piece of musical technology called 'Sticks'. Apparently, they're brown and originate on trees.

Maybe they're Mandala Drums, they're featured on the Tool website. So I checked them out, and it seems that's probaly what it is.

So what does everyone think about the album art?

I think it's excellent, as always.

There's a puzzle to be figured out with the pics.

Trying to look at the album art while in the car is not a good idea, btw 😛

So Ive heard on another forum. Many already had it figured out.

And I heard that if you play "Viginti Trees" and at 0:23 start playing "Mantra" it sounds eerily perfect. Havent tried it myself yet, but thought I would pass it along.

The album art is beyond awesome. Well worth the price of the cd, just for that. I thoroughly enjoy it, though I tried to show it to a few people and they couldn't see it "right", oh well.

It took me a little while to get used to it and actually see it right.

It took me a little while too. I just kinda wish the people I tried to show would give it a chance, it's like they take one look don't see anything special and think I'm insane. It's all good though,

I think the album is starting to grow on me a bit.

I really like the first part of the CD (tracks 1-5), especially Jambi...arguably the best track on the CD.

I just can't get into the rest of it though. Rosetta Stoned doesn't really do anything for me...and Right In Two is pretty good, but not great.

Rosetta Stoned has a point (though they all do), you either get it or you don't really.
