Well, if she's an unappreciative bit**, then yes. But have you ever talked to her about it? If it really hurts you, and she doesn't care, then I think you should. I can't stand people who make fun of people for their tastes in entertainment.
Uhmmm, I think we got it all cleared up, LegolasLuva...😕 Smod broke up with the *ahem* girl. 🙄 I'm not gonna use bad language or I shall upset Kit 😛 And you DON'T wanna upset him, trust me. Haha. Anyways, you don't have to post any more suggestions or anything. We got it all under control, alright? Cool 🙂
Anyways, welcome to the LOTR forum, fellow fan!!! 😄 We love newbies, so long as they don't cause any trouble (ex: dissing LOTR or the people on this forum, making useless threads, etc...). We've had past experiences with newbies and they weren't exactly enjoyable. I promise you'll love it here 😉 But I have to warn you: some of the people (I should say most...hehe) here are, well, insane, to say the least. Like me, for instance. 🤣 OK I'll shut up now. Welcome!
Well, I figured that, but I decided to post it just so you knew my opinion on it. I'm new here. Now you know what I think of people like that! I had to say my thoughts on it because I've had experience with that. In face, you can go to frostcloud.com and go down to the art and entertainment forum, and click on "Lord of the Rings", and see me do my best to defend the movies without insulting the people who liked the books better. Not as easy as it sounds. I am/was all alone... But... How did she take it? Thanx 4 the warm welcome, BTW!
FOOLISH MORTAL!
we all know Friday rule the most, anyways I am back again, sorry I aint been posting (guess this is the reason the forum is going slow 😛) as I have got my new room and am taking full advantage of it....my entertainment centre is back and I have ordered new dvds and am trying to watch ALL of my dvds before summer.....big challenge!
anyways whats going down
You dig 😄

Hhmm, now that you've mentioned it, you've got a point. I myself is a book first, movie later fan 'coz I've read the book several years before the movie came out, but nonetheless, I love the movies whole-heartedly. But sometimes, I see people (not from this forum) fighting and arguing to death about what's better between the book and the movies. Those who defend the book has got nothing to lose, because their reason and argument is that the book will always be better (and I agree) but also one of their reasons is that it is better because without it, there wouldn't be any movies. I agree that it's true, but it's kinda an unfair and uncreative reason. We HAVE to love the books because they are the root of all things, while we have a choice if we want to love and adore the movies. We CAN'T degrade the books because they are the root of all things, while we could nitpick everything in the movie all we want, we could bash the filmmakers for omitting and changing some particular scenes. I just find it unfair sometimes, the movies are Jackson's interpretation of the books, he himself said that it is not the "definitive" version of the book, the only definitive version is just the book itself. So why can't just all the LOTR fans, from the books and the movies all just get along and unite? 🙁
That's my defense for the movie lovers, however, if you're just an Orli drooling fangirl who doesn't even have any clue what's going on and what the name of the characters are, but still have the nerve to claim that you are an obsessed LOTR fan and know everything about it, then...it's a different story. 🙄
wll put s-b...😄

Well yes, I do think Legolas (NOT Orlando Bloom--only his character!!!!) is the hottest guy I've ever seen, 😆 but I truly am touched by these movies, even though I do not understand the plot 100%. At least I think I don't. I would have to watch the first movie again, because I hardly remember anything from it. If I watch it again, like the other movies, I can pick up a lot more things than I did before. One thing I was wondering was, when the Fellowship got broken up (don't remember how it happened), were Gimli, Aragorn and Legolas just looking for them in the second movie? It didn't really seem like it to me. I've watched the first and third one once, and the third, which my mom rented, at most 5 times. So I remember a ton more from that than the others. I posted in the thread started by OrliElijahsGrl about missing the movies and how much they have affected me, as much as words can describe without sounding too corny and sappy. I have been touched by them. They're all I can think about! I love playing the scenes in my head in school every day, but I have too many memories of music and if part of a Lord of the Rings song sounds a little like it, then my head stops playing it and switches to the other music I've memorized. And unfortunately for me, I'm not very good at remembering names. Of the top of my head, there's... Legolas, Aragorn, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gimli, Treebeard (if that counts), Arwen, Euwyn or something, Saruman... And that's all I can think of right now. I am obsessed in a way, like I said in my posts about how much I love these movies, but I have yet to learn everything about it. Orcs and Uru-Kai (spelling?)... But those are the characters--oh, Gollum--that are mainly in The Two Towers, so I remember them. Gandalf too... It's hard NOT to love these movies, yet some people say they'll never see it because it looks like Harry Potter or something. Heh heh, no, just a LITTLE off there, buddy! Nope. Nothing like Harry Potter. No stupid jokes, not so childishly colorful, a lot more violent, a LOT more complex... The list goes on and on. Besides, if people already love the books and are satisfied with them, why should they care how good the movie is or how accurately it resembles the movie? If I could change it, I would just put in another character, a female (might be weird back then), that I would play and never change the story. I'd be a really good warrior, too... Hmmm... I'd want to be an elf. They have an amazing bond with nature, which I wish to have. Phew! Sorry so long! Oops... Quote is bad...

I never said that all the people in the world should get along. I said the LOTR fans.

Gimli, Legolas and Aragorn at first continued their quest to find only Merry and Pippin. They didn't want to follow Frodo and Sam anymore because "their fate is no longer in their (other members of the Fellowhip) hands". The saving of Merry and Pippin was their first mission, but then they met Gandalf in Fangorn Forest. Merry and Pippin already encountered Gandalf there when Treebeard showed them to him so Gandalf informed Aragorn, etc. that they are safe already so they didn't have to worry just yet. Then he informed about the situation in Rohan. That became their second mission that's why they were there. Being in Helm's Deep and all. Everything that happened just started some chain of events.
and the third, which my mom rented, at most 5 times.
I suggest you read the book. 🙂 Don't deprive yourself of the experience. It will be so overwhelming and refreshing and you will feel very good inside. It will be so much better for you to understand these things. 🙂 Soon enough, they will just be pieces of cake for you. 😉
Well said, shadowy. Everything, I mean 😉
You sound like a true fan, LegolasLuva, and not just some stupid Orli-obsessed fangirl 😛 Good choice. Haha. How long have you been a fan of LOTR? Since the FOTR movie came out, I'm guessing? I have to admit, I didn't even know what LOTR was til FOTR came out, but then I fell in love with it and bought the books, read them, watched all of the movies (way too many times to count...including ROTK 😉 haha), and now I am probably too obsessed for my own good. My friends say so, my family says so, people I hardly know say so...🙄 My mom still gets mad at me whenever I talk about anything relating to LOTR because she thinks that just because it's not real (which I disagree with; LOTR is completely real! Who agrees with me? *sigh* Foolish humans don't understand what's real and what's not), I shouldn't talk about it all the time or anything.
*ahem* ANYways, I suggest you read the books, LegolasLuva. You'll enjoy them very much, trust me 🙂 Uhmm, how good is your reading? It'd be great if your reading is on a high level in order to read LOTR. It doesn't necessarily have to be, but it would help. I'm not saying that you can't read it or anything! Just don't get frusterated(sp?) whilst reading, alright? 😄 (I did, at times hehe...but that was just the first time I read it)
