TTT was good, but I liked RotK more. TTT seemed kinda boring, until the endm but the battle dragged on for waaay too long. It was a chapter in the book, yet took up 40 mins in the movie. In RotK, the battles were more spread out, so there was always action within a short amount of time. RotK felt more truer to the book than TTT
The battle dragged on too long? No way!! The battle was good BECAUSE it was long, and it was done well, not just pathetic and puny. I thought that was one of the best battle scenes I've EVER seen. The BEST!!
It was a chapter in the book only because Tolkien maybe didn't want to write much about it and instead prefered us to use out imagination. 😇 (Just a choice).
I was never a huge fan of either the Fellowship of the Ring or the Two Towers, but when I watched the Return of the King, I was amazed! It is by far my favorite, just for the battle where we get to see all the riders get trampled! It was so well done in my eyes and the epic mount doom scene made me get get goose bumps. Many may not share in my opinion and that is obviously okay, but I loved the Return of the King more that any of the others. Did anyone else find the death of Smeagle (or however you spell it) a little uneventfull?
-peace out...
Without seeing the EE of ROTK i cant say what my favourite is. So far FOTR EE is my top pick, the battles in all the movies are great but for me it doesnt define the whole movie. The charge of the Rohhirm alone makes the battle in ROTK the best and come ROTK EE i think it will be an even bigger margin. Seeing the Nazgul on the fell beasts in battle was amazing to. As for the "long soppy" ending in ROTK, after over nine hours of story telling a 20 minute ending isnt too much IMO. Imagine how long it would be if you added the Scouring of the Shire (which i'm glad they left out, it may look good on paper but not on film).
