a couple of pages back malic clanorian asked why anakin was killing the seperatists....this is the final stage of palpatine's plan to take over the galaxy, to wipe out the seperatists, starting with dooku....only thing is, recent spoilers suggest that nute is still in contact with sidious, however i was under the impression as of ep II that he was still sore at having been burned by him in phantom menace....dunno.....

that's right...now Palpatine revealed himself as Darth Sidious, the seperatists are the only ones who can prove that he was controlling both the republic and the seperatists, so he needs to wipe out the witnesses.

I think Sidious and Dooku make big promises to the seperatist leaders. Sidious has them wait for Vader/Anakin, making them believe that he is delivering their reward for their continued support.

yeah, only i heard that after phantom menace that nute was sore at having been betrayed by sidious during the naboo takeover....in ep II he was dealing with dooku, but not sidious, and had no idea that they were connected....just wondering, 'cause recent spoilers don't seem to fit with this anymore....

Actually, we have seen Nute Gunray in that Room from Mustafar, talkin to someone (probably a hologram) saying: "The plan has gone as you had promised, my lord." In the Webdoc 15

they say he Nute got away after four trials, he still was viceroy...Someone could have influenced those trials...someone like Palp! Btw it's probably sidious he's talking to on hologram cause 1) he adresses count dooku as count...and count dooku is surely dead by than!
