I watched the film "The Day After Tomorrow" today, and it kind of blew me away.
Does anyone out there really believe that the Polar Ice Caps are melting at an alarming rate, adding fresh water to sea water and changing the ocean current system?
Just curious.
it could eventually happen, but probably not in your lifetime....
but, yes, scientists are saying that that's most likely how it would occur because of the global warming issue...
Perhaps, if this did actually occur, it is a form of "Armageddon".
If anyone caught one nuance in the movie, Mexico refused to take in any more people at the border, which caused a massive uproar. The only way that they started accepting foreigners again was for the US President to "forgive" all debts owed by Mexico to the US.
So, if this didn't happen, you'd have a crazy fight going on.

yes, global warming is the heart of the problem.
too much carbon dioxide keeps much of the suns rays from reflecting back into space, thus trapping more heat. its as simple as this: we need to stop burning so much stuff. whenever stuff burns, carbon dioxide is released.
someone mentioned the ozone layer, but that has nothing to do with global warming. they are commonly confused.
No I don't think it is possible.,
We all have our different things of what we think about how the world will end.
But after seeing that movie I had no doubt that what happen is not going to happen. It jut had too many loop holes in that movie.
I have no idea what will happen but I know it is no t going to be like that.JM 💃
I dont think that it could happen but i am not completley ruling it out, i mean yea it did happen 10000 years ago, or maybe i am mistaken... and yues you are right the earth is 5 billion years old how manys times has it happened and maybe the scientists should look into that and see if there is a repeating pattern and maybe it is predictable... but that is just my view of it, im not saying it will/will not happen.
I really can happen and in some billion years or so it will. Everything is being pulled inward in outer space and this means the Earth is getting closer to the Sun and then eventually global warming and all the other disasters will happen unfortunately, and I for one am glad I will not be living during that time period. But I do feel really bad for the people that will. Also the Sun is a star as you all know and it will eventually die out, but by the time that happens we humans will be long gone because of all of the other disasters that will have happen because of how close the Earth has gotten to the Sun before it dies out. If everything wasn't being pulled inward, we would still perish, because when the sun dies out, we would lose out plants and all the animals that thrive off of plants and our meat and all our food supply that we need to survive. So yeah the things in the movie will happen and more, sorry to tell you, but it's true.

I had just watched the movie last weekend, it was freaky, awesome, unbelievable, exciting, unreal, I could just go on and on, I just couldn't stop thinking about that moving and asking the exact same question you just did, Could this really happen?? Like I read in someone elses post, not sure whose, I guess it could, cuz it has. Does it really happen like it did it that movie, CAn you really freeze that quickly? That is freaky.
