who hates the x-men??

Started by Havoc4704 pages

i love the new avengers take, no one was complaining when they dropped out certain old characters for hawkeye, quicksilver, and scarlet witch, bendis is basically doing what stan lee did and incorporated spiderwoman, luke cage, and the sentry

as for xmen i only know of four that xmen are in, astonishing, unlimited, uncanny, and just plain xmen....and if there are more i just dont bother looking into them to confuse myself

I so remember reading my brother's uncanny x-men back in the day. i used to love reading the new mutants. that was such a funny comic. i don't know the name of the x-comic in which wolverine is as tall as Dr.J but from what little i know, they appear to have made said title, x-men meets Dawson's creek with a little action thrown into the mix. why does this sound like the new mutants? I'll be honest, I've just had enough of the x-men in all the guises. if i want to be depressed, I'll watch CNN.

wow if too many comic titles depress you i think you need therapy

too many comic titles don't depress me, dude! just to many centered around one character(s) i guess this is the reason i stopped buying them. kinda got pissed off being ripped off. still love reading my friends though.

lol, i was just kidding, but i dont see too much comics centered around one character/team at least not any that demand for you to read a billion others just to have an idea of what the plot is

i think ultimate x-men should be called Ultimate Sex-men from now on.

I picked up the 4 latest Ultimate X-men comic (to work backwards collecting) and seriously.....everyone is hooking up with everyone.

Iceman/Rogue
Storm/Beast
Wolverine/Jean
Iceman/Kitty
Storm/Wolverine
Gambit/Rogue

I predict an orgy in the Danger Room by issue 100!

yeah really ultimate xmen and ultimate spiderman have gone mutant 7th heaven, its really annoying i just hope they get over this crap before the good artists leave (for ultimate xmen, imo the ultimate spidey penciler sucks)

I stopped reading the regular X-Men a couple of years ago because it felt more like "As the Mutant Turns". Turned into a real soap opera.

😱 😱 💃 💃 💃 😱 😱

its getting so out of hand that in the middle of near death experiences they'll be talking about jean grey's death to try to relate to people, like in xmen #164 they're all getting owned by black tom and get back to that whole "xavier = savior" speech thats really getting tired

uncanny xmen and astonishing xmen are still pretty good, astonishing has cheesy emotional moments just not at the wrong times, and uncanny is still going in a good direction imo

i guess the key for me is to pick up a couple of the latest x-comics and see if my anger is misplaced. the reason i started this topic was that i was pissed off that, once again! my favorite character Thor was dead. i mean for an immortal, one of a select few in marvel, he seems to die an awful lot. so i ask the x-philes out there to recommend an x-comic that doesn't remind me of the ****ing o.c. or ****ing Dawson's creek to jump into.

i know what you mean man, i cant think of an xmen comic that doesnt have that bullsh!t in it, maybe uncanny xmen would be the best one, secret war is good, and the marvel knights stuff are usually good, mk wolverine atm since #20 is real good, you just have to keep an eye out for grittier x-comics and keep away from all the x-men/o.c crap, i hate that too, i just pick my comics wisely

at last someone is on my wave length. i guess there is a huge market out there for the x-comics as there's so many of them but i remember back in the day reading the fall of the mutants, (or some such deal)! in which angel gets his wings nailed to a wall and that rocked so hard. i don't ever want to become cynical about comics. they are now and have always been my favorite medium but this explosion of 1 team 1 character comics is bullshit. marvel, share the wealth before you lose anymore readers.

yeah it'll never be the same as it was before, it was hardcore back then (in certain comics) now whatever so much as touches hardcore has to be MAX or Marvl Knights, marvel has focused on kids alot, but nonetheless gives the comic book readers some good things

while some would like to read some 42-page long drama dealing with xmen relationships, others would just like it to go out of control and put the characters in real danger, very much like they did in the past

i think marvel is dumbing down comics perhaps even d.c, though to a lesser extent, too. i mean. if your going to have a character with shit loads of titles, at least make them fun to read like batman. the authority is like the x-men on steroids. what, i would like to hope! the current crop of x-writers, artist et all, wish they where able to get away with.

meh, im not a big dc fan, the only thing i collected was micheal turner/jeph loebs run on superman/batman....but everything else is friggin rediculous imo, i really dont think each batman solo comic is good, most of them are just plain boring, after reading hush i tried to read some other stuff and its all the same crap, they give him an enemy, along the course of pursuing the enemy he whines about jason todd's death, he finds the enemy and takes him out.......end, then do it again for the next 3 issue story arc

moving to X-Men forum...

ya think? i usually like the story arcs in bats, though i haven't bought anything in a while, i have been buying graphic novels like no man's land and i enjoyed the fact that d.c, (unlike marvel), are prepared to destroy a major icon as in Gotham where as marvel can't even kill one character and leave his/her ass dead. the x-men just plain bore me to tears.

who did dc kill off? jean grey died......again, but thats her trademark, she's a pheonix so it represents resurrection

they've killed off supes, supergirl, green arrow, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen. sure some of them have returned but i have to say the return of green arrow by Kevin smith made me laugh my socks off and though i hate to admit it, i did like it when they brought back supes. as for jean grey, she's died at least twice, she must have a condo in hell. or maybe x-men never die, they just go MIA for a while.
