Longswords are teh roxxors, mostly because you can use a shield with it. 😎

The only set back with the iron shields is that you need hammers to repair them. You lose more repair hammers fixing the iron shields. Whereas with the Claymore your blocking level increases fast and instead of wasting repair hammers on a shield you can use them on the Claymore. But then again I'm only 16 hrs into the game so maybe as you progress you increase your blacksmith level.

Yeah, I have a decent armor now. I can repair probably five or six items completely before one breaks.

Plus, you always get the armor rating from the shield.

EDIT: By the way, I'm currently using a glass shield along with my Daedric longsword. 😎

This game is uber, right now I have a lvl 6 archer. Im doing the dark brotherhood quests. And I got a few good mods also. Any strategies for an archer? Please tell me if you know. Also, my other skill is Alchemy. If any of you are expert alchemists could you tell me how to make poison potions to use on arrows.

They're all over the place in my game. What, you thought the iron shield was the only shield? 😛

It has an 11 point defense, I believe.

You need at least a Mortar and Pestle. Click on them. It will bring up a list of ingredients. You'll need ingredients that say something like "Damage Health" as an effect. Once you've joined two or more ingredients, you will have created a potion.

Now go to the newly created potion. Make sure you've got your arrows and bow equipped. In order to apply the potion, "Equip" it once highlighted. It will ask you if you are sure you want to poison your arrows.

Click yes, and you're all set. 😄

Does anyone know how to do the quest where you go into the painting? Am I doing something wrong, because I equip the poison on to my sword and beat the crap out of the goblin guy inside for like 5 minutes but he doesn't Die. Maybe I just suck...

Trolls regenerate health, you'll have to either bash the crap outta them fast, or run away from them. I beat 4 of them, then had to sneak past the remaining ones cause they were too hard for my character.

That's exactly what I did. You have to keep whacking those suckers endlessly. My advice: use a one-handed weapon (so you can swing faster), make sure you have a good shield equipped, and possibly use a paralyzing potion (didn't try that, but it may help).

I only said that because I was able to take them down with my one-handed sword and my shield, using a hit/block technique. 😬

Oh I know how to create potions, lol I just wondered if anyone knows ingrediants to dark magic potions like poison or paraylyze potion. I can create the basic stuff np.

If you have any Chameleon or Invisibilty spells, poison your blade, cast the spell, then hit them with a sneak attack and they'll go down faster.

Well, if you have an ingredient that has "Damage Health" or "Paralyze", then you can use them.

Ok, well any ingrediants that can make poison? Besides poison apples.

Speaking of poison apples, can you buy them anywhere? I killed the Dark Brotherhood guy that sold them, now I only have 1 left...

WHat dark brotherhood guy sells poison apples? You know there is a mod that turns them into a poison that you can use for your weapon.

I cant remember his name, he's a Khajiit. Look around for him in the DB sanctuary, most times he's in the training room.
