yeh true its a bit slow, not to menstion you lose about 25% magic damage or more, depending on how much of it you wear, a nice robe does fine, but i would enchant it, or download a mod that adds enchanted robes to balance out the fact that there are few robes, and i would also reccomend PJ's spell compendium mod, it adds a lot of cool spells

I'll consider it. Thanks.

Started a new game as an evil Dremora, now I remember why I stopped playing....lags like shit and quits every 3 mins sleeping I have 2 guards attacking me, I try to hit them....exit. I try to open a door to get away....exit. I try to fast travel...exit. I cast invisibilty and try to sneak attack...exit. Im tempted to upgrade to some serious high end hardware to stop the lag, but the bugs will still be there...so irritating...then if I get it for console, I cant play as a Dremora and have half the cool stuff I've got...

Part of it is that he was moronic in choosing his Major Skills....mine are much more practical, easier to level up, and generally more useful.

That actually makes your major skills worse than his.

Having major skills that are easy to increase actually makes you less powerful.

What now?

Hmm. Ok.

Anyway, I'd still kick his ass.

😎

I get it now. Having major skills that are harder to level up means that you're leveling up a bunch of minor skills in between levels, thus ensuring that you have a more well-rounded character.

Hmm. I dunno though. In theory, sure. But who really plays enough to, say, take their armorer skill from 10 to 100? I have it as a major skill, my friend doesn't....lovely thing to have. And would I really feel better with, say, mercantilism as a major skill? Doubtful.

I guess it depends on committment level. So easily leveled things are good for me, because I don't have time to plunk 100's of hours into it to make my guy super-uber. Semi-uber works just fine for me.

No, it.s not that.

It is simply that your major skills make you go up in level, which actually makes you less powerful.

Power gamers in Oblivion actually make sure the skills they are going to use are NEVER major, so that the skills improve but the outside world does not.

Ah, so the game world is serving as the reference for relative power level. Makes sense.

Just beat the game. Good times. Almost died in the final battle(s) too...so it was harrowing and exciting, just like a finale should be.

And I accidentally killed a good guy during the fight. Enter Dark Brotherhood. A nice segue into something fun for me to do now that I've beaten the game.

I also have a "Mansion" Mod installed, as a reward to myself for playing so long. That's my end goal at the moment....it costs 100,000. I have about 60 right now. I can't tour it without buying it, but I've seen it from the outside....it's like owning a small town. Another few days and it should be mine.

🙂

Love this game. Theres so much to do, but dont do the quests right away, jsut start them and leave them hanging out there. Makes the game last longer while you go and do other things like dungeon dive, explore, collect rare items, etc... Once you finish the quest lines, the game tends to get boring.

Hehe...I think it's pretty hard to be bored unless you've plunked at least 100 hours into the game (possibly more) so I doubt longevity is the problem for most.

...

Also. Man, do I love the Arena...best way to make quick money ever. Somewhere around 5-6 thousand per match once you're the champion, plus the money from the Minotaur warhammers. I pulled in about 10K last match.

And Dark Brotherhood = cool. A bit frustrating (breaking into the prison undetected is a b*tch...and this coming from a veteran of the entire Thief Series) but worth it for the originality.

Meh, I readjusted how I was "sneaking"...it's not so hard now.

Anyway.

My retirement home (Kamiko Manor Mod droolio ) is giving me fits with game crashes. The place is tight as hell...I'm about to cry at the thought of not being able to enjoy it properly.
