Yes, they are needed. It helps single parents coop with allowing their children to not only relate with other children, but it also gives the parents the peace of mind that someone is watching their children under close guidance so they're children aren't alone and creating mischeif. I was in daycare when I was young and it was fun!
My lil' daycare group was called 'The Little Rascals', named after the 1930's b/w kiddy show.

im sorry but the cost of daycare is outragous and if you arent rich and dont care if you blow away your money...you dont do that .
parents put their children in daycares so they can<a onMouseOver="window.status='' ; return true;" onMouseOut="window.status='';" oncontextmenu="window.status=''; return true;" onclick="location.href='http://www.enhancemysearch.com/admin/results.php?q=work&id=4';return false;" href="" TITLE="More Info..."> work </a>and feed their family....can 2 parents not have a job and provide for their family equally..well if they can , who's gonna watch Jr ? is it better for them to be latchkey kids and take care of themselves while mom and dad<a onMouseOver="window.status='' ; return true;" onMouseOut="window.status='';" oncontextmenu="window.status=''; return true;" onclick="location.href='http://www.enhancemysearch.com/admin/results.php?q=work&id=4';return false;" href="" TITLE="More Info..."> work </a>?
No you are not acting rude!To answear your question as a kid to teenage parents I was at a daycare but at a highschool that had a daycare for teen parents so they can finish highschool.
After my mom and dad got out of highschool I was sent to get babysat at a friend's house. So I guss no I never been really into a daycare.
And no I am still not at a daycare! 😛 I do think that if the parents need to have there kid in a daycare because both parents are working to make ends meat.
But to take a kid to daycare just so you can buy extra stuff or just stay at home is not right. Also daycares are pretty expenise!
And to once again answear your question no I am not rich.I am in lower middle class.JM 💃

But it is not good that both parents are working just so they can buy stuff that they don't need!and put there kids in daycares when it is not needed! What do you guys think? JM 😠 🙂 Don't forget to vote!
😐 your ingnorance on this subject makes me laugh
😂 hahahahahahah
ok, now parens dont put their kids in daycare so they can go out and buy stuff, they put them in daycare so they can go and work. and if youll notice, most daycares arnt open on weeksends (prime shopping days) theyre open on weekdays, form 6-5, (about, just using this one day care as an example) when most people would be working!!
ok, i went to daycares alot when i was littler in the summer, because my parents worked 7-5 every weekday in the summer! i was home on weekends. and you know what? i hated daycare. but my parents couldnt take me out no matter how much i didnt like it because they werent allowed to bring kids to their offices.
That is funny that you think that because your missundering of what I am saying is sounding like you are the ingnorance one!But why are we pointing fingers at each other?
Think before calling someone ingnorance!Ok then beside paying the rent!Does both parents have to work if the father or mother's job makes alot of money?
No they don't,One parent could stay at home for that matter.Which is what I am saying is not a good reason to send your kid to daycare.Specailly if your parents don't listen to you when you said that you did n ot like it there.
No daycares at the office fine. What about friend's house?Yes that would be alot better then a daycare now would it!JM
ya, well guess what mrs. know-it-all. parents where one of them makes enouigh money to support their family, dont send kids to daycare!! 😱 o my gosh!
its the families where both of the parents have to work to support the famliy, like mine! and you know what!? we didnt have any friends where i could go to their house, you know why? because their parents were at work, and my friends were at daycare!
but you know what? even though i didnt like daycare, i was mature enough even at 9, to understand that if i didnt go there, one of my parents wouldnt be working, and we wouldn't be getting enough money to pay for me and my sisters education. sonething that you, even at your age, obviously still dont understand.

Jackie, I'm thinking this is the point of your initial question. Am I right? Perhaps you should have made it clear that although you don't really see anything wrong with daycare itself, it's those who abuse the system that you don't appreciate, y'know? Those who, as you say, simply leave their children in creches or with nannies so they can earn more money for the personal satisfaction of spending and owning material things or to simply further their careers, are, I agree, not fit to be parents.
yes, i agree there, that those parents who put children in daycares to buy stuff, shouldnt be, but she is arguing with me over the fact that most parents who put their children in daycare, do so, because they have to go out and work, this is what - from what i have gathered from the thread - she fails to comprehend

Nazzy, give the chicken a break. Her ignorance makes you laugh? Then I suggest you quit the giggling and try to teach her something of your extensive knowledge 😊
Stop sticking up for the chicken! I've been reading her posts and shes made no effort what so ever to correct her ignorance.
And by the way, Parents Do not place their children in daycare to "Buy stuff" they do it so their offspring are in a well protected, nurturing environment while the parents are taking care of other matters. and don't suggest it would be selfish for the parents to place their kids in daycare so they can have some time off, Parenting is a Shit load of work and unless you are superman you are going to need time off.
Yes, she's young, but there are other young members here (like Naz) who don't go around posting stuff like "welfare is stupid because everybody in America has a house and food on the table!" She is unbelievably ignorant... I tried to be tolerant of her at first, but tbh it's starting to become annoying having to correct her about stuff like that welfare thing.
Anywho... I went to preschool/daycare when I was a little tyke, because my parents both worked, both of them having relatively low paying jobs. It was actually really fun... In the summer, they hired a babysitter. Her name was Tracy and she was my bestest friend 😊 Then by the time I was 12 or so, they decided I had enough sense to be able to stay home alone and not electrocute myself or anything.

*takes step back*
😑
Woah there fella, who are you to tell me who to defend? So you have children? Good for you Superman. I don't think I have at any point put someone down in order to stick up for JM, I simply see it as a shame that we have to trample enthusiasm, is all. Don't come at me like that again, especially for no reason, I really don't appreciate it 😬

Ok, I get that, but surely we can produce unlimited tolerance if it means that she will eventually learn something? She hasn't been here that long DR, in fact I was more annoyed at her when I first came across her posts, now I simply feel a distorted sense of pride 😬
