Bush has won for the second term!!!

Some allies agree to help alot faster than others. Thanks UK, Austrailia, and where are you France? Where are you? Get out of the wine cellar, we need you too. Germany, put down the beer, we do need help.

I'm mostly German american, and I still find that especially funny. It hits home.

Why should they help if they don't agree with the war? If France waged a war America was against and we helped them anyway I would be pissed.

France will never want to wage war. I'm nearly 100% convinced that they will never wage war.

The US and UK will always lead the war waging, and France will comfortably beable to criticize both countries for war mongering.

France will never wage war? Thats historically incorrect, but it was a hypothetical example. The point I was getting at is I don't blame any of our allies that aren't helping us in the Iraq war because they don't agree with us being there. Just because they are our allies means that any war we wage they must blindly send their troops into as well?

My statement still stands... I said France will never want war... true for even America. I also said, I am nearly 100% sure they will never wage a war. I'm not totally sure, but most likely they won't lead to wage war. Historically incorrect, but they look at history now and strongly oppose many wars.

Let's hope we never have to find out. But in all likely hood, there ever being a war (the one now isn't a war, it's an attack with chance of random retaliatory attacks) that effects the world a la WW2, is slim and none.

The fact that all our weapons are war-enders means that we've reached such a stalemate that we're almost.....safe.

War-ending weapons don't make other countries feel safe, and that is why we may be under random attacks.

I think he means that all the superpowers that have the nuclear weapons probably won't use them, because the minute one country fires one everyone else will fire theirs and we'll all be screwed.

Most countries believe that, but if fundamental islamic (or any other fundamental religious sect) terrorists got a hold of nuclear weapons, I believe that they would use them in the belief that they were just and that their god would protect them.

Interesting how the country can vote for someone who's administrative council can't even take the responsiblity of being in office a 2nd term.

Powell and Ashcroft and Greenspan see armagedon on the horizon so they decided to enjoy their last 4 years on earth with their families I see.

Too bad, Powell was the only guy I liked in that administration. I guess he had enough of the stupidity.
In his administration iff you don't agree with Bush he just kicks you outta the room, I guess powell decided to take his ball and go home.

There is a big difference in Powell's decision to work 4 more years in a stressful time, or to bail out and let someone else take the pressure. Anyone could make that decision no matter how it is going.

I am sure that Powell can handle stress, He's a fricken 4 star general! Stress comes with the job. I think he's leaving because he radically disagrees with Rummy, Cheney and bush on how to handle the Iraq war and terrorism.

Not to mention he is often ignored and left out of any decision making process. He's noot a member of "the club" and he isn't a yes man. I'm glad he's getting out, this administration has tarnished his name enough.

And you have spoken with Powell on these matters and you had dinner with him.

I'm sure Powell's priorities changed over 4 years. You get no family life doing what he was doing even with complete peace.
