You are comparing Metallica and working as a band with Powell, Bush and the running of The United States? Have you lost your mind?
All I heard was they had differences.
At what point do you investigate what you have heard, espesially when it comes to political issues as important as the relationship between the Sec. of State and the President?
You really don't believe Bush has put that behind him. You assume alot.
People must change with the times, or you get lost in the change. Powell wasn't going to make a change that the president saw coming up. It is possible Powell wasn't making a good move on some issues.
If Powell wants to see family, he isn't going to be up for another 4 years, it's his choice in the end.
You assume that he hasn't?
Yes, I am sure that Powell and didn't agree on many issues. I would listen to what Powell would have to say regarding military and foriegn policy over most of Bush's advisors because he has been extremely succesful at each.
I also find it funny that the Bush administration's most popular and respected member has chosen to leave.
It isn't fun working in the white house for another 4 years if the last 4 years haven't been what you wanted.
What changed in foreign policy and military policy is that the enemy is tribal in nature. Normal policy won't be successful. Powell needed to leave when he couldn't adjust to the change in strategy.
Anyhow, Powell really is a good Military/Foreign Policy planner. The only thing that doesn't work for him is that Saddam still isn't going to be the diplomatic type, and neither are the Terrorists. Powell should have been in charge of the Military, it would have been twice as fast and efficient possibly. I guess all we can do is think what if it happened the other way after it has already happened. Too bad there isn't a time machine for everyone who doesn't like it.
As for Metallica and people thinking they sold out.... I disagree. They are really good performers and they have alot of work ethic. I respect 3 of them for sticking together so long and James for working out his problems the best he could. I respect Colin Powell for being able to do the same while not making everything even worse by quitting too early.
There is a hint that he may still work for another 6 months to a year, until middle east peace gets started.
"The only thing that doesn't work for him is that Saddam still isn't going to be the diplomatic type..."
um...perhaps im just another misinformed brainwashed liberal...but didnt they capture saddam?
and the rambling gets worse yet. i find it to be just amazing how you put metallica in the same paragraph as colon powell. you intrigue me more with every post...i just sit back and witness you slip further and further into delirium.
oh, and yes, metallica sucks.
I'm not delirious, you just don't think like me exactly, at all, so you think like you and get scared or think whatever I do is dribble. Good job, you keep on doing it. Most of the delusion about me is in your mind. I'm really sure about that.
Yes they captured Saddam (first time you pointed out something positive that came out of the Bush administration), I was speaking before they captured Saddam, and yet somehow "brainwashed liberals" seem to forget (or never ever mention it) that and still point fingers at Bush. Great, awesome, positive, and constructive way of building a united America.
Your opinion of Metallica is the opinion people get based on the majority opinion. Sniff Sniff... sheep?
