"I hate Lars, mostly because of the Napster thing... Anybody who says downloading music for free is wrong is a retard."
Every single person gets that story wrong.
Need to read what actually happened and what was actually said before you make accusations. He and the rest of Metallica have always said they are for file sharing and FOR the technology but they would have liked to be asked before their music was put on the net, for free or not. It's principal.
Learn the facts.

It's not greed. It's making back all the money they squandered on alcohol and drugs, and the subsequent rehabilitation and therapy sessions.
Their conceit is what bothers me more than anything. Conceit or naivity, which is one and the same, anyway. Must be comfroting to know that they can cash in on their hardships by pouring their heart out in a book and movie, and have people buy into it.
Master of puppets, indeed.
Why would they need to make money back with those methods? The only one I know that could be classed as greedy is Lars. They're making/have made millions off their albums.
They don't need to do stuff. It wasn't their idea to do the movie anyway.
Besides what I said was in relation to the Napster debate. Which most people get wrong.

True. But how old is the "Cliff 'Em All" video? People change and they obviously realised it's a shit thing to do something like that which is blatant stealing. They always said they were for the technology of Napster but they wanted to be asked for permission that's all. Nothing was said about being paid for it.
