At the last seconde she would have blasted off in her ship.
At the last second Samus' ship would have been blown away by half the Covenant armada that was attacking Reach.
They ran their butts off to the nearest underground chamber. Thats not exactly "standing and fighting."
They actually had to protect that underground bunker.
Not only has MC disobeyed orders he basically told Major Silva I think was his name on Halo to shove it.
Spartans died on Reach because an Armada of over 350 Covenant ships all easily 2 to 3 km long bombarded the planet until it's surface was melted into glass. If Samus was standing there she'd be dead to. And no taking off on the ship wouldn't help. If the Covenant wanted her dead the fleet would easily bow her ship to atoms.
So if Samus was fired out of a MAC round going faster than the speed of light and smashed through a planet she wouldn't get hurt at all?
I mean, if someone dropped a tank on her. Or something like... I dunno some huge monster took a iron brace and beat her with it she wouldn't get hurt? Come on that's just retarded. You could stick her in slip space and have a 5km long ship like the Colossus hit her at top speed and it wouldn't phase her. That makes no sense at all.
You were bugging me about MC's strength and contradictions, which by the way I proved wrong, so I can do the same.

I wouldn't exactly call that a fall. And, no, he did not tell Major Silva to shove it. He simply said that the Spartans didn't deserve to die. Somehow, I knew that was going to be your example for how MC has disobeyed orders. Even if we count that (which I will) can you think of any REAL instances? Like actually contradicting orders?
MC was told to either give up Johnson by giving all the data on the Flood and his sickness, he chose to give part of the data and save Johnson's life. That goes directly against the orders he was given when he became a Spartan.
And no he said it a bit more bluntly than that.
MC is actually not that comic book, most of the technology in Halo is either already invented or close to being invented.

If you recall, he was never ORDERED to do anything. Dr. Halsey left the decision up to him. He ended up choosing to spare Sgt. Johnson. I'm pretty sure that if someone told him to sacrifice Johnson, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
True, he said it more bluntly, but he didn't say it as bluntly as you said he did. 😛

Yes im shure we are close to bieing able to bombared a planet with plasma to the point where the surface turns to galss
You dont get it, when he became a Spartan, when any Marine would became a Marine they would be under "oath" or orders to tell the superiors of Johnson's data. If the brass knew what John did he'd be in so much shit despite his status it wouldn't be funny. He disobeyed the ultimate orders there.
If the Brass asked him if it was all the info, he said no, and you can gaurantee they did.

True, but they didn't know about it. When they asked him if that was all the data, he could take it literally and simply be referring to what was already there. You make it sound like MC is this independent guy, who does things his own way. He may sometimes stray abit, but the bottom line: he's still doing what others tell him.
I can't really think of one time that Samus takes an order without complaint. We hear abit from Samus in Metroid Fusion. From the way she tells it she hates when anybody givers her orders. Kind of different from MC, who is always doing what others tell him. When Major Silva calls him a freak, MC responds, "sir, yes sir."
