Sam looked at his communicator and noticed that there was a symbol that was different from the others. It said it was one of the titans but it was marked in red instead of the normal yellow. The name next to the Icon said Tom Jones. Sam knew Tom was the one he saw burning with golden fire. The red, unfortunately, meant that the titan in question showed no life signs. Sam sighed and a looked at his feet. "He sure was brave... He gave his life for us... poor guy." He said mournfully. The red dot wasn't on the map but it was marked as being on the other side of the planet. "We should go find whats left of him, so we can give him an honorable burial." He thought walking out of the room slowly. He heard a beep from the communicator and looked at the red dot again, he saw that the distance had diminished slightly. Sam ignored it, thinking it was only because he had moved.
Sam looked around the room, no one was talking. He knew now was a bad time to talk to them. He walked out of the room and suddenly remembered Tom's last request. He looked at the communicator and went to find Angel. "This is going to be hard. Why do I have to be the one to deliver this news." He thought, as he walked to her location. He saw that she was already concerned with someone. "Shoot, if I tell her now there's no telling what she might do." He thought walking closer and taking Hanzo. "I'll take care of him, he shouldn't have left the infirmary in the first place." He said turning around and walking away. His face couldn't hide the fact that he was hiding bad news, but he didn't have the heart tell her what happened to Tom.
All the while the fighting had been going on, Angel had been worried sick about Tom. She could remember him holding her just a few hours ago. She began to wonder if her power had helped. Was he ok? She stroked Hanzo's cheek, desperate to free herself from her worry but finding it rather impossible. Angel's eyes turned to Sam as he walked in. She noticed the look on his face and a horrible feeling struck her stomach. What had happened? Why wasn't he telling her? Angel stood up and placed her hand on Sam's shoulder before he could walk out. In a choking voice she asked, "What's wrong? What has happened?" She turned him around to face her, her eyes filling with tears. "I... I need to know. Please tell me." She got a horrible thought, a part of her didn't want to know, fearing it contained Tom and some terrible fate that had befallen her love.

Angel's eyes widened in horror. She felt her legs weaken and she fell forward. Her heart felt torn out. She felt sick and wanted to throw up. "Tom's gone!! No he can't be! Tom!" Her mind swept back to when Tom and Angel were in each other's arms. Tears filled her eyes as she blacked out. "Tom..." She curled her wings around her. Her heart felt crushed. She just wanted to die. She withered in the floor as her wings swung closer to her. She almost looked dead. Her face was chalky and pale and her lips were blue. She was fragile as her wings began to turn and musky grey color. This was truly the suffering of a broken heart. "I'll never see Tom again..."

Angel was lost, in a sea of darkness and mourning. Tom, her love, was gone. The last time they had seen each other, had been when Angel had hurt him. He had died without her knowing she cared for him. She felt sick and confused as she lie upon the floor, her wings nearly suffocating her as they wrapped tighter around her. She wanted to die along with Tom but she was bound to the earth and could not leave it. Despite her healing powers there was nothing that would repair her shattered heart.
