What problems would 16 year olds have better solutions to than, say, people with years of experience in the field?Maybe instead of giving more people a vote that thusly becomes increasingly worthless, we should think of a way to make a vote count for something.
As much as I like the idea of excluding people from voting....how do you decide who will be excluded?
honestly, i really don't think that it would make much of a difference even if they did change it. As of now, only about 20% of 18-25 year olds in the United States vote as it is. So i really don't think it would change anything especially considering that most 16 year olds would not have the motivation to go through the process to register to vote.

I'm for raising the voting age to 21. HOWEVER..I support a more participatory democracy as opposed to a representative one. Major issues should be put to a vote of the general population, as opposed to being decided on by a small group of politicians controlled by special interests.

And many politicians aren't? For someone who claims to have libertarian views you sure have a low opinion of of what an empowered population is capable of.
To be fair though, libertarians don't need to have a high opinion of voters, they don't want them to have power anyways.

Re: "Should the voting age be changed to 16+?"Absolutely not. 16-year-olds are retarded. Would you let a person with Down Syndrome vote?
I didn't think so.
Yeah, see, that line of thought has the problem that 32 year olds are retarded too. So it doesn't make for a good argument.
