Should the voting age be changed to 16+?

Oh, ok. If the voting age was lowered to 16, then the parents could definitiely influence the child's decision. However, seeing as how voting is confidential, the parents would never know who the child voted for. And as I said, a person's vote can just as easily be swayed by biased media.

I would've said yes 2 years ago,but now I'll be 18 soon and I must say there is a huge diference between these ages.I say 18 it's good...

I'm not sure about the voting age. I mean, what's the point of adding another demographic that doesn't vote? This thread is full of people talking about people dying for the right to vote; 16 year olds being too naive to vote; 16 year olds not being capable of making descisions, etc. But, the fact remains that most 60 year olds don't vote. Most 46 year olds don't vote. Most 26 year olds don't vote. I'm willing to bet that most of the people who argued that they should be allowed to vote; being 16 3 years ago when the thread was started, didn't even know how to go about voting, much less have any real interest in it. The biggest demographic that will react to something like this is likely the age group mentioned.

You should have to take an IQ Test bfore you vote; if they did George Bush wouldn't have been re-elected.

What problems would 16 year olds have better solutions to than, say, people with years of experience in the field?

Maybe instead of giving more people a vote that thusly becomes increasingly worthless, we should think of a way to make a vote count for something.
