Cemetaries/Graveyards: Waste of space?

I believe burying a dead body (which will rot and decompose anyway) and putting up headstone after headstone in a field where other things could be used for more beneficial purposes, is a waste of space.

How about you?

-AC

I don't I think its good for rememberance of the person who died, and its good for genological reasons...

"One day the world will be full of cemetaries"

but I do agree with Tptmanno1

I want to be creamated when I die. that way there is no way for me to wake up 6 under if I didnt actually die 😖

then you would be burned alive o_o i don't think thats any better

Bit of a ridiculous theory there SlipknoT.

I'd much rather know my loved ones ashes were in my possession rather than rotting in the ground to become part of the Earth that we pollute and destroy every single day.

Just me though.

we should all just be cremated (sp?)

Well I probably wouldent wake up when I was being burned

Cemetaries probably are a waste of space, but the space is there for now so why not use it?

Yeah like I really want my loved one's ashes sitting around my house? 😖 Err NO plant my ass please. I'll be dead what do I care?

i believe that if someone wishes to be buried then they should be allowed, if thats what they believe, and is their custom, then why not?

😂 sorry that made me laugh

I wasn't insisting no one should be allowed. I was asking on peoples opinions as if it's a waste of space or not.

"Yeah like I really want my loved one's ashes sitting around my house?"

Yeah like, I was saying I'd prefer it. Not that you would.

i don't believe its a waste of space, i think graves are there for a reason, to remind you how lucky you are to still be alive. and when you miss someone you lost, it can be helpful to go see their grave, hell, even talk to it sometimes. so no, i don't think its a waste of space.

I see your point, I do see the point of graves. Don't get me wrong.

"i don't believe its a waste of space, i think graves are there for a reason, to remind you how lucky you are to still be alive."

Wouldn't this then logically remind you that you'll be in the same place one day and couldn't ashes do the same thing?

-AC

we do have a quote button there hun.....its hard for me to read your posts 😖

ok, when i was 16 years old my best friend died. every so often i go to see her grave, i lay some of her favourite flowers there, i even talk to it/her. i couldnt do that with an urn, thats what it means to me.

"we do have a quote button there hun.....its hard for me to read your posts"

Apologies. However since no one else has a problem with it and it IS understandable, I'll continue. That isn't meant as a verbal attack or a smarmy remark by the way.

I see your point PR.

-AC

I see your point PR.

thats all i ask.

and i do see where your are coming from too ac.

I don't think so, nor do I think all bodies should be cremated. I've never liked the idea of burning somebody up after they die... Just seems more natural to me to bury them. Seems kinda cheap to burn somebody, like you're trying to get rid of them. Hard to explain it really, I just feel like the earth is the reason we're all alive, and it's more fitting to end up down there so if anything we can end up as fertilizer for the rest of everything 😖

Pretty morbid I know, but it seems like we're disturbing something in the cycle of life and death to not put bodies in the ground, back where they started.
