She is perfect for the book, because she is everyhting the plot needs. Think of it, she hates Harry's guts, I mean who wouldn't. And it turns out that she saves his life, or worked well with his dad and mom. Sheer brilliant irony. Of course your supposed to hate her because, well that his here character, like Draco.
Returning to the point she doesn't die and her finale line could be like:
"Well i ddepart giving you my blessing, and hopefully when we meet again we shall not meet under these circumstances." and walks out or to something wherever she is. Or maybe she dies, which ever way it will be sheer brilliance ong J.K. Rowlings part.
