it's an entertaining show, but it's no different than Wringling Brother and Barnum and Baily Circus.
Even back when Andy Kaufman got into his fight with Jerry the King Lawler...it was stage and that was WELLLL over 20 years ago.
I just can't believe you people still follow this crap. It gets worst and worst every year.
And what the hell ever happened to Ravishing Rick Rude. That guy was freaking hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't. Anyway we hardly get any wrestling stuff here...but that isn't a reason to ban it from sports...I understand what you mean Linka' , and it's true that what all the producers have made of it over the past 40 years makes it now quite different from a real sport...but that's the way things go...
Its been a few weeks since I've actually cared for wrestling.
The last time I cared was Wrestlemania, which was pretty dissapointing and the only thing I cared about was Benoit winning the title, which was awesome and the only thing really worth watching. I'm glad I got it for free.
Now that Benoit has the title, it's STILL like he's struggling for something decent. Sure he has the title, but HHH is still the focus of the show. It's not good enough. Everything should revolve around the champ. This is made even worse by the fact HHH will probably get the title back at Summerslam.
Add this to the fact that Jericho's still pretending like he's not stuck in limbo (poor deluded fool, Godammit I want a Benoit/Jericho showdown like the good old days!), Edge's push of nothingness (and supposed heel turn that will suck because fans will be expecting it), Matt Hardy/Kane/Litas AWFUL storyline that just screams "Mae Young" and "hand" everytime I see it (those that do not remember the "hand" incident - don't ask. Really, please do not ask, you'll cry).
And Smackdown is just plain awful.
My fave wrestlers, Benoit, Jericho and Kurt Angle are either still getting screwed over, or are injured beyond repair. None of them are getting any younger and I'm sick of waiting for WWE to get it's finger out of it's arse and do something great with these amazing gifted athletes (too late for Angle, they exhausted him already)
Linkalicious is right, it gets worse every year. 2000 was the last year of greatness, with fresh faces, superb workers and great storylines, and the belts were strong, and the Tag Division was on fire. Now it's just crap, crap, crap, with like one match worth watching every month, even those are on Pay Per View.
BULLSH!T!
