That totally redeemed that movie. At the time I thought Fincher was a one-hit-hack... the director's cut showed he never was a hack at all.

Absolutely..! When the quadrilogy came out, I would regard the Alien/Aliens/Alien3 arc as a trilogy for the 1st time... Still not a fan of Resurrection though.
