A lot of Hispanics have moved here over the last 5 years, mainly for work in the vineyards. I live a little north of Napa Valley, which is famous for its wine. A lot of Hispanic families have made there way here to work with other family members. Of course a lot of people assume they are all illegal immigrants.

lol it quite depends on what exactly u mean, u mean people from mexico? they r called mexicans, and latinos and hispanics are people from south america/spain/italy...
one thing i never truly understood... when people say that they r racist towards latinos/hispanics
they mean they hate them because where they born or their skin color? cuz there are white hispanics... so racists r not racist towards white hispanics??? racism topic is so weeeeeeeeeeeeeiiird!!

Non-existant where I live. Princeton is so racially diverse, that you really cant be racist.

Gay marriage has nothing to do with racism. And it doesn't matter how racially diverse wherever you live is.. NYC is racially diverse too.. you gonna tell me racism doesn't exist there? I live in south florida which is really diverse as well.. and we have plenty of racism. LA is racially diverse as well.. it almost seems like the more diverse the city the more abundant it is in racism. Racism will never end, but it is getting less severe.

No its not racism

I'm not saying it's ok to ban gay marriages.. but it's homophobia not racism. Racism deals specifically with racial and ethic backgrounds.

I'm pretty sure in order to be a "race" homosexuals would have to produce other homosexuals, like the black race or the white race does. Homosexuality isn't passed on from generation to generation, it just occurs randomly. With that definition that means fat people are a race too? Midgets are a race as well? Everybody fits into multiple groups.. you only have one race.

My point was not on the fact that we have racism toward gays, but discrimination. The slight diffrence you interpreted was that racism is toward a race, which is true, so I'm sorry if I was vague.

I really dont care if there is discrimination towards gays It dosent affect me. People these days care to much.

Oh.. yeah I know we have discrimination against gays.. but discrimination is a less specific term than racism. People discriminate against beliefs, race, sexual preference, gender, physical fitness, etc. I highly doubt we'll ever reach the point where discrimination doesn't exist. And everybody discriminates at some level... even it is extremely subtle and minor.

There is still severe homophobia in many parts of the nation (anyone remember Matthew Shepard?).

And I'm lucky to live in a state where there is almost no racism because us hispanics are near the majority, and he have people in the government (hell, our governer is an influential Democratic hispanic)

Racism isn't only committed by whites though... but yeah some parts of the country have less racism than others. What state do you live in?

When he was still ten, he was taunted by an Asian classmate at a school in Ipswich for being overweight and was likened to a tellytubby. The overweight boy then allegedly called his taunter a "Paki bastard" and punched him twice in the back. Neither taunt was very pleasant, but for goodness sake this banter goes on between kids all over the world every day. I went to a school in Leicester with a high black and Asian ratio of students and I was called an English or white bastard (and worse) many times. But so what? Its just playground talk, just teasing between kids, that's all.

For God's (or No God's) sake it is JUST A BODY. And if people are offended by references to their bodies, well they can just as easily choose not to be offended. What this nonsense is doing is making people choose their words so carefully that it is having an increasingly subconscious affect on our ability to open our mouths and speak without watching every last word and assessing the consequences first. A better definition of psychological fascism I cannot imagine.
