oh i get it......are people in south america really racist?

Southern America, as in US, I don't know about South America

and it's more evident in some areas than others

In the south, as in south of Mason Dixon, YES. People are for the most part racist. They are in the North too, it's just not as open and publicly acceptable. Also, in some parts of South America they are very racist. For instance Brasil, take a look at the favela's. Everyone in there is black.

I've heard some horrid stories of how the Portuguese conducted their slave trading. Apparently they were awful economists, but thats way off subject.

i think a lot of it goes back to mentality

anyone who wasn't of Anglo-Saxon ancestry was considered inferior when the US was born and that hasn't changed much for some people

its also parenting, i think parenting has a great deal to do with racism but for the most part hate will always exist in some way or another and now it runs strongly through racism

and sexism, and heterosexism, and classism

there is a bit of racism in everyone's lap-take a look at Imperilaist Europe. It led to 2 world wars with the hopes of creating a Europa Universalis under one country. Eine reiche, Eine volken, Eine Fuhrer. That went over like a lead zeppelin...

Everyone mistreated everyone at one time or another. History is full of atrocities,like those committed by the Japanese against the peoples of Asia during WW2, the SS and the Death Camps, the Soviets with the iron Curtain and the Chinese human rights systems. I could go on but it's unfair to say that any one people had the corner on the market.

The Spaniards decmated Central and South America of her Indian peoples.

And yeah, to be fair, America mistreated the American Indian and destroyed them, making them a second class citizen and a familiar stranger in the land they once owned. Nice, huh?

The REAL American citizen reduced to nothing. I ought to know because I'm one of them... 😠
