If it was me, I would take the selfish, irresponsible way out--remain silent. What's to be gained by confession? He didn't do anything wrong directly...it's not like he was driving and a kid ran out in the middle of the street and he hit him.

guilt comes and goes with time. No manner of confession will take it away, especially when he's certainly going to get much further verbal abuse from the parents of the kid than from anyone on this site.

I agree.. if Cosmo ran a kid over in the street and directly killed him then i would confess.. but it wasnt really his fault... but the LAW would make it seem like hes a cold blooded murderer

Where the HELL did I say that?! Let's get one thing straight. I never once said that. What I said is it's regardless what religion you follow or moral code...lying is never considered the right thing to do. I'm atheist and I still believe that lying is wrong. Wanna argue this with me? I just took an ethics class. And guess what, NO ethical system condones lying.
