Honestly, give me an example of Emo that does not follow the shit guidelines spouted out by MTV. As I have said, If you can do this I very well may change my opinion.

Hahaha, you claim to be a fan of real punk and real music in general, yet you are allowing MTV dictate what you believe to be emo? I don't think I need to get into how hypocritical this is.
Second, the only emo bands I've ever liked are Jimmy Eat World and if you choose to call them "emo", Fugazi. I don't like alot of the emo I've heard, but I'm not so hateful toward the genre that if a band came out who were emo, that I'd deny liking them or even giving them a chance. If you're allowing MTV to dictate what a genre is, you're never going to like anything.

It also seems to you that emo is essentially about 20 somethings whining about relationships. You were wrong there. I don't feel the need to be right all the time nor do I have a superiority complex. I don't unless I have something to base it on. Stereotypes exist because there is a reason, eg: You think emo kids are all the same. You base that on the fact that you know alot who are. It doesn't mean they all are.
I don't assume that my experience in something is all there is so I'm not so insecure as to feel the need to label. I'm also not so insecure as to assume everyone does something just because I do it.
If you're ashamed at the fact that you label, great. You should be. I'm not, because I don't. I'm afraid you're gonna have to deal with that.

Is what they do in their own time, anything to do with you though? No. If your basis for hating them is how they choose to live their life, that's really sad. Regardless of if you dislike how they live or not. So the emo fans you've specified are over dramatic, so what? So is Britney Spears. I don't read magazines with her in, watch her shows and listen to her music to complain about her though.

Well this is subjective but it's pretty obvious which are right or wrong views here, being substantiated and all that. That's not what I wanted to point out though. This was:
