emo is the dumbest term. it doesn't refer to a specific type of music, or a specific sound or a specific tyep of band. it just is a catchall for lazy magazine writers who needt o label everything - why else would Glassjaw and At The Drive In be considered emo alongside Dashboard Confessional and Cursive?
I mean, it's gotten so bad as to this: i recently saw someone describe The Mars Volta as Prog/Emo/Salsa/Rock. come on. don't try to label everything.

Because you happen to know some whiny teenagers who like emo music?Did it ever occur to you that regular people like it to? As has been said before, not everyone who likes emo is the stereotypical emo kid. I'm friends with some people who like emo and they're not the stereotypical emo kid.
Idiots with such close-minded opinions should be holocaustinated. So there.
Trends are stupid. But blind ignorance is worse.
I never said I hated non emos who listen to emo music. I realize there's a difference between emo kids and non emos who listen to emo music. Whatever though.
Besides, don't steal my catch phrases and words. "Holocaustinated" and using "so there" constantly is copyright to Ragnaviper, Inc. and should not be used without full corporate permission.
Don't make me bring out the dancing banana!

Then you hate posers and/or trend followers?
Why specify emo?

...but hey, I don't go ragging about it.
I'm not ragging about it, nor is it the same thing. You said you wanted to discuss it, then copped out. I'm not popping at you, it's just rather pointless to say you wanna discuss something, then not do so.

No, I don't hate people for listening to emo music. I just wish people wouldn't take it so seriously (i.e. Emos).
Ragging about it? Nevermind that. Poor word choice on my part. I feel that I've shared my views well on the situation. What really is to discuss? All I've seen is that you disagree with me.

the origins of emo have been put down many times, it's not a catchfall really, it's just a massively broad genre
