Well, I'm generally going to classify something with what I have heard. I have heard over twenty emo bands insofar and all have followed the label of whiny 20 somethings complaining about a relationship. I am yet to hear an example of something else from a so called "Emo" band. Show me something else and I very well may change my opinion. My opinion which may I remind you that I am entitled to although you seem to think otherwise.
Assuming all punk is greenday-esque is alike to assuming all Americans are fat and lazy. I think I understand where you were aiming with that comment. However, my opinion is not just an assumption, it is a feeling about something that has been gained from hearing what Emo I have heard.
