Why the hell not?
Gays are just people you know, whether your parents are gay or straight they still love you, you would still love them. Or is it some unrational fear of being molested or something? Well don't you worry about your father or mother doing that now then? For crying out load, i don't know why you would feel uncomfortable but it makes no sense
Man, I hate to be THIS guy.
I don't think gays should be able to adopt kids if the kids have the chance to be with straight couple.
Nor do I think interracial couple should be able to adopt kids if the kids have the chance to be with a "normal" couple.
I think kids should be only given to parents that are 100% socially acceptable by most peoples standards, giving thus child the highest chance possible to become the "standard".
Has "fitting in" ever been a viable excuse for doing certian things?
Probably not, but when it comes to the children I would want the kids to have the best chance possible to have a "normal" life.
If we lived in a country where gays and interracial marrage were totally acceptable by Americans then I would be all for them being able to adopt kids, yet sadly we are not.
If someone calls me a homophobe, then you didn't understand what I'm saying.
IF a child has a choice between the "norm" or the "new idea" then I would always place the child with the "norm", for his sake.
I agree if both parents were equally suitable...
If we had two couples one gay and one straight that could both in theory raise the child exactly the same i would send the child to the straight couple. But if there are two couples and the gay couple can obviously give the kid a better life then the straight couple then the child should go to the gay couple.
Of course the instances that there are going to be two couples who can both raise a child equally well is going to be extremely small if it would ever happen in the first place, so it hardly matters.

Socially accepable? How acceptable is child abuse, drunkeness or child abuse? Sure, straight couples are totally acceptable. Speaking from a personal point of view, I don't want kids, but there are so many gay couples out there that would provide a better home for needy children than would a straight couple. What kind of home are you prepared to provide for the homeless, parentless children of the world?

But whats so different about gays then? Interracial marriages isn't accepted throughout the US or at least thats what i would gather from Long pig his post, and gays aren't either.
So why would interracial be accepted and homosexuality not be accepted? What would the difference be? If its not because the children will get picked on then what reason do you have for disagreeing with gays adopting children?

But lets say that two couples match exactly in how well they can take care of the child and one is gay and the other is straigth. Who do you think the child should go to?

capt just think for a min. lets say this happens and the kid goes to school ends up getting killed all because of the enviorment the kid is in. most homophobic people will kill gays. if they do that what makes you think for a second that they wont kill the kid do the home enviorment? personally i got no grudges against gays but personaly a gay couple really isnt a right thing to put a kid into.
Think past the archaic stereotype of "acceptable parents" and you'll find so many more capable and willing gay couples out there that will provide better homes for needy children than will a straight couple. Besides, if all these straight couples wanted children, there would be no debate. But, they don't. Let someone who will love the child come in to play.

Killed because his parents are gay? What kind of thing is that? If thats a reason to kill people these days then people have become even greater idiots then i thought. What if the child is gay? Would he get killed, wouldn't that mean that you are in favour of two different schools one for gays and one for straights. That would make sure the second group can't kill the first for being gay...
